Nastiest place I’ve ever been! The security camera had a years worth of dust and grease on them, the air ducts and all vents and high surfaces over the grill, soda fountain, walls etc were greasy dusty, there were only 2 people working with a massive line and the food was severely overpriced for there not to be any ketchup, or ribs or tips or bbq sauce because I didn’t get mine! We were told the owners would not help. We’re visiting from St. Louis and we’re really excited because Topps had been rated the best since 1952! The new owners have ruined that! I almost wish I could go back to 1952 when they were rated the best, but I wouldn’t have been allowed in there at all. They would’ve put salt in my Coca-Cola!

A great historic BBQ establishment. The food is freshly prepared as ordered. I really miss the older ladies who use to run the store on Union Ave. Great cheeseburgers and fries.

Horrible place for bbq. I ordered a rib plate it was more like a charcoal plate, no sauce no flavor. the only good thing was the coleslaw and the banana pudding and I’m sure that’s because that’s premade somewhere else. will never order from again.
The food was on point! The service was lackluster, as I ordered 2 different sides, but ended up with 2 desserts, I mean... maybe it wasn't a "bad" mistake, but I didn't need all those cards! LOL.The place smelled amazing when we walked in, but it could've been a bit cleaner.Workers weren't rude, just not welcoming.

Came back too memphis and had my favorite bbq "TOPS" bbq grew up as a kid eating tops with my dad. Its be about 6yrs since the last time I ate here,, im 46. It was very disappointing. I guess in time everything changes.Meat had no flavor. Sauce seemed to be the same. Comes in lil sealed packets tho. I enjoyed the mess on the side of those cups and licking it off my fingers, good times. Buns were super small. No more Jumbo. The vibe was left in history I guess because there was no vibe there. Didn't feel like I was eating Tops at all. Big let down, mouth dried up and everything.

Not the cleanest or friendliest place. Bit into my bbq pork sandwich and couldn’t eat it. It was SO sour!!! Tried the slaw… sour, tried the beans… sour. I wound up not being able to eat lunch at all. My husband tried to eat his (we had the same thing) he spit bones out with EVERY bite!!! And of course his was super sour too! Will NEVER go back. Wasted our money and didn’t get lunch. It was AWFUL & unwelcoming.

I've tried more than once to like Tops but each and every time the food is nothing to write home about at all. The only reason I tried this place again was because 2 individuals bragged on the burgers. Well let's just say the burger that I had tasted exactly like it looked, nasty. It's difficult for me to understand how you can mess up a burger but hey I guess it can happen. On the bright side the employees were very nice and this location was also very clean.
