The mean troll that took my order messed up the entire order, I watched her re-fry some wings that been sitting in a basket, they was hard as bricks, I asked for ranch. She gave me blue cheese. I said no tomatoes on my burgers. She loaded the burgers down with tomatoes, to top it off had an attitude when I asked for more ranch which found out later wasn't ranch, definitely won't be back. I'd rather do buisness with the Chinese next door Wok n Roll

I will never go again. The food was just ok and the lady working the front counter actually tried to charge $0.05 per pack of ketchup after 4 packs. What on god green earth sense does that make. I'll pass on that and just go back to the Chinese restaurant, Wok and Roll, right beside it inside. Their food is better

Omg the wings and fish was amazing. I love catfish and this was by far the best I've ever tasted! Honey hot was the wing flavor I ordered and it was very tasty! Ill be back!

I usually just fly in and drive straight out of Memphis. Mostly because I can't stand the food options or service in the airport. However, there are little gems like Hot Wings Xpress that I will sometimes get during my hast out of town if I need food pronto. The wings are actually quite good. The only issue is consistency. I have been here when the food was less than stellar. However, as others have said, when it is good, it is great! Try their honey wings. You'll be happy you did.

This used to be my go to place for wings because I live right around the corner. Lately I can only refer to it as overpriced and inconsistent. I love their honey mild wings but nowadays can't bring myself to pay that much for a 5 piece whole. I believe it's just under 10 dollars now. If I must, I stick to that flavor only. Seasoned wings I ordered in the past were fried too hard, didn't have enough seasoning, and this last time smelled so rancid that I couldn't eat them. I caught a glimpse of them dumping wings in a bucket and shaking it around to cover the wings with the seasoning. Whatever used to be in that bucket was probably not cleaned out and made my wings smell rank. That was all I needed to stop going for good. If you want wings from here... Reconsider. There is probably another hole in the wall wing spot 10 minutes away with better food and better prices.
I'm guessing all these reviews are for the location on Shelby Dr which is no longer there. I just left the new location 3303 Winchester and my food fast wise was good but they falsely advertized. I ordered a a combo 6 "whole" wings fries && drink.. I got to work .. I only had 3 whole wings.. The took 3 whole wings cut them in half to my 6 .. Then I ddnt get veggies nor a dinner roll. Then they gave me a can drink. I paid 7.99+tax for a half meal .. It was a total rip off.. I wont be returning

So, I almost love Hot Wings Xpress. When they get it right, the wings (fried or smoked) are delicious. The reason they only get three stars: inconsistency. The service is usually fair at best. The wait time is quite long. Unfortunately, even when my order is called in and I arrive at the time specified, I often find myself waiting upwards of 15 minutes for my order. On other occasions, I've gone to pick up my order only to discover they were out of the menu item I requested. My favorite menu items include, honey gold wings, seasoned wings, smoked wings, Loaded baked potato with chicken and cheese. Bottom Line: The food is tasty, by the service experiences I've had won't allow me to rate it higher.
