I stopped in Helen's for lunch on my way home to Woodbury today. The people were super friendly and one of the men even prayed with me which to me says A lot.The chicken was very good, the fries were seasoned just right and the ranch dressing was homemade...certainly better than any bottled. The only thing to me in a negative light was the music was too loud...other than that it was great!

Just found this Hot chicken place in Murfreesboro and I'm so glad I did. Got leg quarter, level hot. Breading was light. This place does not play with heat. My face was tingling by the second bite. Perfect! Staff was personable and friendly. I'll be back for sure.

You wouldnt' guess that a Texan would be a huge fan of Nashville hot chicken sandwiches, but I certainly have become one. Helen's has one of my favorites. It is always well cooked, crunchy, and the hot option on their sauce has a good kick. I'm not averse to spicy food, but I'm not sure I would be up for hella hot given the level of kick hot has.

Immediately when I walked in, Josh had greeted me and had such a great energy and helpful customer service. The food and service were great! By far some of the best chicken in town. Come check this place out!

The food is good. I frequent the place ever since moving to Murfreesboro. Anyone whom mentioned the women working upfront are 100% accurate. It's definitely not the best customer service, the cooks are friendly. I placed an order online was given the wrong order when picking up and as I was inside a gentleman returned his incorrect order as well which was apparently mine. The lady working upfront didn't care proceeds to give me the order another customer left outside with and returned with no apology. I had to remind her of sides and condiments I paid for. All in all terrible experience I spend over $30, each visit and received drums after ordering flats. Was told by Tiara that owner Josh would contact me that day. He did not. I was refunded less than what it costs to pay for all flats. The drums are sitting in my refrigerator to return but, they do not open Sunday. If you're looking for southern hospitality this is definitely not the place to go to. My order number off Chow Now 199799131. Please refund me Josh I've recommended your hot chicken to my out of state family and re-train your staff upfront. I have pictures and evidence I'd like to post onto Google to get you to refund me Josh. Another customer handling my food and the girl upfront acted nonchalant it is still covid19 out and worse diseases.

Mr. Joshua Asemebo is the General Manager & Owner of the Murfreesboro site! He enforces/ensures technical aptitude and professionalism of his employees while he's there. Hot plates cooked fresh is what you pay for and what you will receive! I got off work and made my way to the establishment @ 8:55p tonight; while driving up to the store's curbside, he so happen to be outside on a smoke-break and respectfully asked me if I was wanting to make an order. I said yes, and he went inside, washed his hand, and cooked my order. Although, I popped up in the last 5 minutes before closing, the G.M. showed no attitude, not anything less of professional service. While waiting on my order, he also gave me lite lesson on Nigerian culture and custom. Mr. Joshua is a very intelligent & competent staple for the local Murfreesboro Black small-business community.

No gimmick, just pure taste! The first bite of their fried chicken was an explosion of flavors in your mouth. It was perfectly cook from inside out. Meat was tender juicy and the skin is crispy. The people are great, outstanding customer service. Thank you, Grandma Helen for these recipes!

If you love chicken and haven't eaten here before, definitely give this place a shot! I've been coming to this place pretty regularly over the past few years and it has among the best fried chicken I've had. The chicken is always juicy and never dry. The seasoning and spices they use are great. If you want to try their hottest level, Hella Hot, I recommend getting it with the tenders or their wings for your first experience. It is HOT but it doesn't drown out the taste and quality of their chicken. Everything is cooked to order so there is a little bit of a wait but it is worth it. I've spoken with the manager several times and they are always nice and they care about their customers.

Both were cooked to order and so good! The mild is perfect and the hot lemon pepper is good but also really spicy so beware. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in town or you can just bring a location to Chattanooga, TN ☺️

Went here for the first time today only because the Hot Chicken Festival was too crowded and was too hot outside So went to Helen's and they were not busy at all probably because of the festival do I ordered the leg/thigh quarter and a piece of piece of catfish. Now the catfish was on point so good tasted so fresh, but that chicken was awful tasted and smelled like it was fried in week old grease just tasted a little piece of it and threw the rest away. Wasted my money and I was so looking forward to this hot chicken or well maybe next time....Nah don't think there will be a next time....Sorry

First of all, the reviews regarding the customer service are spot on. The ladies working the register do not seem enthused about being at work. However, the gentleman and back was friendly. The food was okay. Definitely spicy for mild. The worst part of the experience was the restaurant itself. It appears as if they haven't taken the time to upkeep the interior and there is a horrible mildew smell. The Helen's in Smyrna is so much better

Food was pretty decent, I enjoyed the chicken and was the right heat. Fries are seasoned pretty well and the other sides were enjoyable as well. They charge 5.99% service charge which they aren't very upfront about. There may have been a sign but I sure didn't see it. Despite that they still give you the prompt to tip at the end of the transaction! Don't charge me a service fee and ask me to tip.

Being new to the area I had no idea what hot chicken was. The staff was super nice here and explained to me the varying degrees of hot and spicy. Being a wimp I started with mild and I am in love with this place. Will definitely be back to try other things on the menu. They do have weekly specials as well
