I relocated to Tennessee not too long ago and have been looking for authentic Jamaican Caribbean food I don't eat out a lot but I love Caribbean food this place was everything that I remembered about Caribbean food and why I fell in love with it the spices The Taste the atmosphere that everything was 10 plus rating for me this will become my favorite Caribbean restaurant that I will visit at least once a week thank you so much for all that you do and the friendly staff that you provide

I’ve been here twice but won’t return. The first time I visited the customer service was dry and the food was ok. This most recent visit I wasted my money. For the price I paid for 2 meals (ox tails and jerk chicken) the portions weren’t worth it. I didn’t like the ox tails. There was no gravy on the rice and the meat and veggie portions were small af. Both dishes lacked flavor. Overall, I spent $50 for nothing.

Inna Nutshell: Not terrible ~ Not great. Rice was most of the meal, lacked a sufficient amount of meat and cabbage. Much different from the flavorful and delicious Jamaican food I’m used to. Customers can tell when a kitchen cares about what they serve. Qualify & Standards for restaurants are high, either come with it or u will not thrive.

Tried for the first time. It was just okay. The food didn't seem fresh. I did go for dinner. We don't live but a few blocks from them and it wasn't that fresh out the oven warmth I would've expected. The cabbage didn't have the flavor I was expecting. The Mac n cheese is a little odd. It didn't have that fresh creaminess to it. It seemed a little dry. The fried chicken had flavor but wasn't fried crispy like I expected. It was more soft like kfc original recipe. Not my personal preference. I may give it a try again to see if this was just an off experience. It wasn't terrible but it was just ok. I'd definitely recommend Cool runnings over it.

I had the oxtail dinner with macaroni and greens I Must say these are not the oxtails i’m use to. I normally cook oxtails at home but didnt have the energy to cook today so I ordered out it doesnt have that oxtail bone with the gristle it doesn’t even taste like oxtails to me they were a bit on the dry side mac and cheese doesn’t have a taste and the greens taste like it had too much vinegar i wasn’t satisfied picking up my food there were no customers so that should’ve told me something there im a chef so im really big on flavor needless to say i wasted 27 bucks
Baby when I tell you this food is absolutely delicious ? the best I have had since I been in Tennessee. The portions are just perfect and the customer is amazing. I will be back. ❤️

First time eating inside Hungry Spot! My boyfriend and I ate here when they were just a food truck and wanted to revisit. We got their escovitch fish with yams and fried plantains and browned stew fish with rice and peas and fried plantains. Both were super good with tons of flavor and seasoning!! I really liked the escovitch fish because it had spicy pickled bell peppers and onions, but the browned stew fish with the rice and peas were hands down the best!! Either way, you can’t go wrong when eating here! Also the staff are super friendly and gave great recommendations with the pineapple soda!

Food is good. I asked for oxtail juice but didn’t receive. The rice & peas were dry but good but had minimal peas and TOO much rice. The j*** chicken portions I received were only 2 small pieces for the amount paid. Better off going elsewhere like kool runnings and/or island vibes.
