Recommended by multiple locals. My Cheese burger looked so good I forgot to take a picture of it! The burger had a nice charbroiled taste and was perfectly cooked. On it was lettuce, onion, tomato and Dukes Mayonnaise. Delicious! Tater Tots rounded out the plate. Again, delicious! Damien was our outstanding server. Never in our way, never to far away and a gentleman throughout. We actually went to see some friends playing music and they were great! Dinner was by chance. This storied place has been referred to as a dive bar. I prefer storied. Don't hesitate to give this place a shot! To top it off, I met famous Bruce Springsteen photographer Jo Lopez! Brown's is on the "Return to " list without question!

I'm not sure how it has the ratings it does. I mean, I'm from a very small southern town and we have our favorite spots, so maybe it's just the nostalgia, but the food was not good and the service was worse. Our server looked lost. He wandered around the place staring at tickets, leaving food to die in the window, and they weren't even that busy. We got a burger and tots which was fine. A chili dog which came with no chili, and tots. Both of which were cold when we got them. And a breakfast platter. The bacon was very old and basically cardboard and the hashbrowns and toast were cold as well. We never got refills and after we were greeted, it took about 20 minutes for someone to come back to take our order. The sweet tea was watered down and not good. We sat it on the edge of the table indicating we wanted to replace it and they never came by or asked about it. The only thing they were prompt about was taking our card. We laid it on the table (not near the edge) and a server randomly came by and took it, not asking if we were ready or bringing us a ticket at all. Just strange. Definitely will not be back and will actively tell people not to waste their time. $54 for that on a slow Friday night? Wild.

Breakfast Breakfast Breakfast .... Get out of bed and try Browns for great early food and hospitality!! They are trying out early open bfast and o so good - We do a monthly Nashville breakfast club and so happy we picked Browns for this months get together. Food / everything was diner perfect - pancakes, white gravy, biscuit sandwiches and chicken-cakes. Menu is curated by a chef and it shows. So many great choices (see menu pic). Prices great, service is even better and part of the experience - thank you Dafnee for being so wholesome and helpful. Check the hours and get in here for a great bfast - your welcome :)

Legendary burger with an old fashioned bar! They got long neck Budweisers! Burgers are excellent, shoestring french fries hot and a nice new outdoor deck! The hamburgers are a hearty 8 oz big enough to share. A Nashville original since 1927! If you haven’t been here in a while the new and current owner has invested a lot into this endeavor and it really shows in all the improvements. It has never looked better and the food has never been better in my lifetime. I have been coming here off and on for the last fourty years! Everything is hot, fresh and good. I don’t know how they keep their prices so competitive. He is a very nice gentleman and I thoughly enjoyed meeting him. I wish him every success!

Everything was so good!! We shared the onion rings, burger, wings, and hushpuppies. Wings were good but everything else was great. The chocolate cake they had was the best chocolate dessert I think I’ve ever had.

This is a very long time Nashville restaurant. The burgers and onion rings are great and they have live local music. It's a funky vibe with it's broken bar stools and local folk. I love it here.

Browns diner never disappoints. Their OG cheeseburger has the best flavor and you can taste everything that is on the burger. The portions of flavor are spot on. The atmosphere is one of a family owned diner that's been around for decades. This is our go-to spot for burgers.

Still one of the best cheeseburgers in Nashville! There's something to be said about a place that doesn't change when we are losing so many historic and local restaurants in Nashville. You always know what you're getting at Brown's Diner, and it's such a comfortable feeling, like visiting with an old friend. The friendly service is great, but the Cheeseburger is even better. With a fresh handmade patty, melted cheese, pickles, and a thick onion slice, this is an old-school burger that still works so well. My go-to meal here is the cheeseburger with their homemade onion rings. Yum! A great place to visit anytime.
