We ordered the "big daddy" breakfast sandwich...best we've ever had! And a nice hot chocolate on the house!

Saw this unique place on a drive by and went back. Really glad we did. The food was fabulous. The friendliness can’t be beat and the price was better than fair for the quality and quantity.

I dont know what to say but wow. This place is so amazing! We were passing through Nashville on our way home from Huntsville to Cincinnati. We ordered the gumbo (I believe the chef said he normally makes it on the first week of the month, guess he decided to get it made for the holidays and new years too), chicken salad sandwich, pimento sandwich (which he had ran out of but literally made a batch while we ate a bit of our food, talk about hospitality!), sausage biscuit, grits, country ham biscuit, chess pie, and coffee because road trips amirite.Anyway, absolutely 0 complaints. Food was all delicious, service was amazing, restaurant is a walk up window with outdoor seating. We parked at the church down the street.TLDR - go here, eat all the food, thank me later.Parking: There didnt seem to be an established parking area but there was a church with parking on the same block, there is an alley right next to the restaurant and maybe street parking (not positive, didnt search for signs) if you want to do pickup/takeoutKid-friendliness: They were so kind to our 3 year old came out and said hi, asked him if he liked his food and all.

The food was excellent and, for being made to order, it came out relatively fast. I highly recommend it.

Got this delicious bowl of chili. The flavors are so good. Had a pork chop biscuit the day before it was cooked to perfection. Homemade ice cream is delicious and the cupcakes as well. He hasn't let me down yet.

So i started off buying chess pies online. This continued for a few years and i got curious about the person who was supplying all this goodness. My friend and I went out of our comfort zone (Bellevue) and trucked over to Hart street. From the outside it doesn't look like much and there IS no inside for customers. It seems to have a steady business from the local residents. The owner, Darryl, was so nice and charming. We wound up having a club sandwich (me) and a chicken salad (friend). Since it was her first taste of one of his famous chess pies, he gave one to her free. She purchased another for her husband.Although simple, the club was absolutely delicious. My friend said the chicken salad was wonderful and raved about the chess pie.I hear their chili is famous. Go there and try it (and other dishes) yourself if you're in the neighborhood. Or even if you're not!!

We ordered the Big Daddy and a Bacon, Egg + Cheese on Biscuit and loved them both. Lots of flavor, biscuit was warm and fresh and the food came out hot! Highly recommended for a quick bite if you’re in the area.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ this place deserves all the stars in the sky not just 5 !THIS PLACE MAKES THE BEST BISCUIT , EGG , HAM & CHEESE BREAKFAST SANDWICH I HAVE EVER HAD !!!!Light and fluffy and Delicious!!! It is a must go place to eat ! My family and I ate here every morning while we were in Nashville! Our only regret was we didn't make it back for lunch or early dinner ! The pies are just as good as the breakfast! My family had some other breakfast items and everyone agrees that this place is the place for breakfast ! Reasonably price , and oh so good !Stop in and see Darell and his daughter . The family has been in Nashville for 5 generations! Darell is the unofficial Mayor of the neighborhood! Great people! Say Hi to Darell for me, tell him the family from Boston and Florida say hi back !

There is a sign that says "we are not a fast food restaurant. Your food is made fresh. Please be patient." After patiently waiting, this is how the food came out. I'll let the photos speak for themselves. These are not "over-easy" eggs that I ordered. These are over-drippy eggs. The grits are clunky because they were made fresh?

Wonderful biscuits! Wonderful breakfast all around!
