The food is good and the customer service is great, but they portion size is too small for the price. Never been to a restaurant where they gave such small portions. All restaurants give enough food for second servings.

My family and I have been eating at Cal's for about 20 years now and it is absolutely THE BEST meat and 3 in all if Nashville. Sundays after church...chicken and dressing, mac and cheese, turnip greens, and broccoli with cheese...best thing this side of heaven. And the folks that run it are awesome!

Local folks and good southern food. The cornbread is EXACTLY how it should be and some of the best I've had in a restaurant. I had the beef tips and noodles this time and they were just right and a very healthy helping.
Cal's is the Best Southern Food so far in Madison, TN. and East Nashville Area. It would beAppreciated if the Staff would cleanthe waiting area. Such as the walls, floors. Wipe off the equipment that stores the food. The entrance inside need cleaning attention.

Food is delicious! But the plates are very skimpy. I got a plate once and thought it was a child’s plate.. honestly!

CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN it up!!! Based on the filthy dirty interior, I question how clean the food practices are. While standing in line I found it difficult to get past how dirty the walls, fixtures and window air conditioner was so I left. The standing cooler with stored food was beyond nasty.CALS should close for a couple of days and concentrate on cleaning this place up before serving another plate.Surprised they have not been shut down by the health department.
