My girlfriend and I walked in late on a Thursday night and were very warmly greeted. The food is all fantastic. The crêpe special was especially memorable. Erick our server is a professional badass.

I am surprised with the prices you pay that is was as bad as it was. First off, our server was rude at times. However, if the food was good, I could have looked past the rudeness. Then one of our pizzas was actually wet.. I mean DRIPPING with water. Soggy mess! The lasagna was tiny. The spaghetti was basically raw. The portions were a rip off. It’s almost like they are over charging to make more money and passing it off as if it is a 5 star luxury dining restaurant, which let me assure you, it was not. All in all, the taste was just ok. Sub-par at best. Will never go back.

First time dining at City House but will not be our last. We went for the pizza after hearing how good it was. It was! We also tried the special pasta dish last night which was the ‘Royale with Cheese’ and it was phenomenal. Closes the night with a Salted Caramel Ice Cake. 10/10 for the night and as good as the food was, the service was even better. Dodge took great care of us, was very informative about the menu and overall made our experience so enjoyable. It’s easy to forget about gems like this in the vibrant Nashville culinary scene but don’t miss out on one of the best in Nashville.

We had been looking forward to checking this place out for quite some time, and given the James beard award had high expectations. Sadly it fell very short. We sat at the pizza bar. We had the citrus salad and octopus apps, both very fine. Tasty but nothing special. After finishing apps it took about 1 hour for the pizza and rigatoni to arrive. Service was terrible. After 40-45 minutes waiter came and did apologize said the kitchen lost or forgot our ticket because they had a big party the same night. 10 min later kitchen manager came and said food was delayed due to the party but they were on it. We understand these things happen but found it odd that the server told us the truth then someone else came and lied. Also we understand restaurants have parties but if you can’t handle both a party and in dining customers.. well you shouldn’t do it then. Food overall was again okay. The pizza at 25ish$ was one of the lower end pizzas in town. Overcooked and just not special. Folk, tutti de giao, just to name a few are far and above better. I would put folk in a similar category as city house, and folk I think may actually be even cheaper slightly, and absolutely blows city house out of the water. Our server was a bit rude, inattentive. Ambiance is okay. Overall a big let down

Everything from seating, to beverage, to service to food to service was world class. City House never disappoints. Our server offered excellent suggestions and provide the perfect mix of interaction, energy, and follow up service. Each item was impeccably made delivered and the quality of flavor snd freshness was tremendous! I brought an old friend who was visiting Nashville, and I had bragged about how amazing it would be, and it exceeded expectations. Thank you for a delightful experience!

Place is a joke , you can’t even do pick up or delivery how I’m supposed to get my me . And you can’t choose your pizza only what they make

City House was recommended as some of the best food in Nashville by several locals. It is on Fourth Avenue North in Germantown near fixed-up 20th-century townhomes and some other businesses. Our reservations were for when they opened on Sunday, and they filled up within 30 minutes. They use stone and brick to harken an Italian country home but are sleek with lofted ceilings to seat and allow the noise of so many people. The tone of our waiter was warm and efficient. And the food was outstanding; my cocktail was balanced, and their Southern twist on Italian food (topping pizza with an over-easy egg, turning tiramisu into a "Tennessee Waltz" round cake, etc.) was Italian but complemented Nashville.

Why is this restaurant so darn loud! I could barely hear my guest talk. This is supposed to be a fine dining experience, or casual elegant, whatever, it is so darn noisy it's like being in a sports bar. The acoustics are terrible in this place. I'm also not sure what was up with our server, it was like she was on shrooms or something, she'd walk up to our table and do this big cheshire cat smile and talk like she was on a trip, and then she'd disappear for a long time. We had to flag her down to order more wine, which didn't show up until our entres were cold and almost finished. I won't go back. I've enjoyed the place over the years but there are just too many options in Nashville now. It's not all it's cracked up to be!

Everything was perfect! Amazing food! Great cocktails! Fabulous service! My only question/criticism would be the lighting? Why is it so bright. Feel as though the lighting should/could be dimmed down for better ambiance.
