Watch out for the host if there is a famous person there. They will Tell you to stop bothering Blake Shelton . When your trying to use the bathrooms upstairs. So rude! Spent a lot of money to be treated like that. Oscar was amazing!!

This is my favorite restaurant in Nashville. There’s no better Italian food in the city. Every time I am here I realize I’ve forgotten how good a meal can be. Service is always great as well. Complimentary valet is the cherry on top.

After eating all around town for the last week, we needed a good italian meal to cap our trip off. This place did not disappoint. Food, service and atmosphere is top notch. Can't wait to come back.

Ok so why did I give it overall 4 stars but rated everything individually as 5 stars? Two reasons: 1) I did not like the bread and olive oil. The olive oil had no spices. It was straight up olive oil with toasty bread. Personally I prefer soft bread and I like the spices on my oil. 2) The price was really high. I paid $55 for half a bottle of wine and for the three of us it was just over $300. The food was really good but I still did not feel likeIt was a $300 meal.

My husband and I traveled to Nashville from Raleigh on 3/1/24, and attended a reservation made by a friend on 3/2/24. The atmosphere was fine, definitely something from a classic film (very dark and intentional). For the restaurant to have received such decent to good reviews (overall) we were expecting...more. The wait staff was knowledgeable, but not quick to react (considering how many of them there are, compared to the amount of tables). The food was...not ideal and far from authentic. I order the arugula salad, which came with wilted greens covered in mediocre dressing. My entree was the Branzino, which was just "okay" at best. I ordered a few Manhattan's as my drink of choice. Those were also, just "okay".Long and short: Lyndsey and Michael (recent reviewers) are correct, it just isn't what you'd expect. Maybe they've expanded beyond their quality control capabilities?

Save your time and money. Food is not good. It’s supposed to be fine dining but I could make better at home. Chicken extremely dry. Salad is a joke. Service is less than par.

We returned to Giovanni's - the site of our first romantic dinner as a couple during a visit to Nashville in 2018 - to celebrate the first day of my partner's annual convention, which was held in Nashville for the first time last week (March 2024). Although the first time we were there it was much quieter (it was an unusually snowy night in Nashville), the food and service this time were just as outstanding as the first time. Bill had the special salmon appetizer and I had the house salad to start. Bill had the veal scaloppine in a lemon, butter, and white wine sauce as his entree and I ordered the pasta special with seared scallops. Everything was delicious and very well prepared. The scallops were perfectly cooked and very sweet. In an ironic twist of fate, the evening's special dessert was coffee gelato, and since we were in Nashville for the National Coffee Association's convention, we HAD to order it! Absolutely delicious! Friends from our home town in North Carolina had called ahead and spoke with Christopher to order a bottle of wine for us. What a special night! We will return again to Giovanni's the next time we are in Nashville. The staff and chef have provided very special memories for us. Mille grazie, Giovanni's!

Food’s alright. It’s not the best Italian food but it’s good for Nashville standards. No real Italian joint offers Alfredo...Come on, chef.Service could use some sensitivity training. The previous (and several) comments about a racist vibe to the restaurant rang true in my opinion. I felt we were treated differently than other patrons. Staff was short with us, rushed us through the meal. We were seated in the back with nobody next to us. Only white people in the front. It was very…odd. It’s not a damning/traumatic experience by any means though Giovannis’s is one of those places non-white people should expect to feel out of place. They could do better but I feel as if they choose not to.Also, as a business, if several people are claiming there’s a problem with the treatment of race: it behooves you to do better instead of claiming people are projecting their own insecurities (see previous comments).

Excellent food, service and atmosphere!

Appetizers were ok, drinks bourbon and wine were way over priced, entries were really good with homemade noodles and perfectly done just a little overpriced for pasta. Two drinks a appetizers and two entries were 210 plus tip. Service was great. I would go again and this is my honest review.

You know right away that it is going to be excellent. Wait staff is impressive. Calamari was right up there with best I have had. We all ordered different entrees. the Ravioli was excellent. The Fruits de Mer outstanding. Bolognese excellent. Cozy restaurant with excellent food and exceptional wait staff. Lovely evening!

Hands down best Italian cuisine spot in Nashville I have been to! They also have a live piano player. The only thing is the lighting can be dim depending were you sit but the service and atmosphere were excellent.
