Apr 2024 - After our Bluebird Cafe plan fell through, Marjie made early reservations at Jane’s for Dinner and music on Sunday night. We thoroughly enjoyed the unique menu, especially the okra appetizer. John, the proprietor, told us about his place and we settled in to listen to Addy/Domino. Fantastic musicianship from the various band members who seemed to gradually increase every few songs. I’m not sure we ever heard any original material like I expected, but she’s a wonderful singer of classics. We headed back across the river and got to see the TN statehouse all lit up on the hill.

A little off the beaten path, but without question worth the trip. This place not only has a varied and nuanced menu, but is a fantastic place to see live music. Fried okra is among the most unique I've ever had, and has incredible depth of flavor. Deviled eggs are likewise excellent. Friendly staff, excellent food. Very cool vibe. We were there when Addie Levy/Domino played, and they were fantastic with a somewhat undefinable style (sort of cool Vegas lounge country?). We heard everything from bluegrass to show tunes. Also cool are the dried flower bouquets hung on the ceiling inside the door - sort of a natural history of the place.

Found this on the day of our arrival. Luckily got on wait list but GET a reservation. We sat right in front of the great band munching on a tasty burger and sipping potent margheritas served by a great waitress, Kaylin, who served the entire crowd without a hitch. Thanks Kaylin, the cook, the bartender, and Greenwood Rye for a great night out.

Great place for good food and live music. There is no such thing as a bad order. Everything on the menu is great. Tuesdays are great for hearing creative song writers.

We are complete nerds because we came here on 3 of our 4 nights in Nashville and loved every minute of it.Great music, exceptional service throughout, cracking selection of cocktails and bourbons. The food really hit the spot too. Not a single complaint.Lucky old East Nashville.

Small place away from downtown with delicious southern/ home cooking. House band played "newgrass" and it was good. They have tables, booths, and a bar. Wait staff very friendly. Good for a place quieter than the Broadway bars with a good meal and great music.Parking: Parking on the sideKid-friendliness: Probably not at night.

We walked into Jane's Hideaway and were told the kitchen was closed but could grab a drink at the bar. When we walked in; there was a gentleman that seemed to work there standing by the entrance who didn't even welcome us in. It wasn't even busy either. Then shortly, the two people next to us ordered food even though we were told the kitchen was closed. I guess the kitchen was only closed for us. The bartender was equally as rude and took awhile to acknowledge us and pick up our tab. It was a very unpleasant experience and truly felt racially profiled. It's crazy to think it is 2024 and we are still dealing with racial oppression to people who are of other races. It made us feel truly uncomfortable.
