We were in the area having spend some time at Long Hunter Park and were looking for a lunch spot on the way back into Nash. I dialed up the Yelp and found La Chula-the ratings were high so we felt good about dropping in. It seemed a bit off that at high noon there were no patrons partaking of their fare, we were literally the only folks who were there for lunch. A crew of worker types rolled in after we ordered so we were hopeful. My general rule is this: high noon + high car count = good potential, high noon + high car count + workers + police offers + pick up trucks = you better go! First some positives: the staff were friendly, the place was clean and the service was good and food came out fast. Here's what would have made it better: the salsa was a bit vinegary-not my preference, the refriend beans were served in a styrofoam cup, not super warm and not very flavorful, the street tacos were good just not great. Another less than stellar feature was the very loud music being played and being changed quite often before the song was over. The place has more of an after work/evening bar hang with a stage for live music. Perhaps that's their jam. Would I go again? Perhaps, if I wasn't driving and didn't have an option. Would I seek it out? Mostly likely not. But, the staff are super friendly...

Definitely disgusting service, they gave me cold food, this is not a family atmosphere, it is a canteen, I always came to this place, there was a very charismatic girl but from what I see, she is no longer there! I won't return to this place again, the girls care more about drinking with men than providing professional service, they should remove the restaurant name and say that it is a cantina where the waitresses sign up with men! Disgusting service, definitely the disgusting bathrooms without paper with a bad smell and also dirty and yellow, super bad experience

I ordered threw DoorDash. I was disappointed the street corn is canned. They didn’t add the Birria sauce Queso wasn’t melted and had a gritty texture . The prices weren’t bad but the quality of the food was awful. Was sick to my stomach after eating this I wouldn’t recommend.

We're truck drivers and we're held up at a shipper so we Door Dashed LA Chula. They did forget to send our drinks, however the food was AMAZING and will definitely order again if in the area!!!

The food was okay but the drinks were good but if Americans are at the bar watching American TV network u should not change both TVs to Mexican channels because Mexicans ask u to turn the channel and if u do change 1 of the TVs not both of themespecially without asking if we are watching that channel because it's rude. If I get there at 5:18pm for happy hour and place my food order at 6pm how u charge me 12.48 for drinks and 58.48 was total and money is not problem, my husband and I have been there the last 3 weeks and had the same waitress waited on us but I questioned her about it and her English is broken so we let it go. We won't be back will go back to Tony's where we never have issues and they seasoned all their food as compared to your food it's hit and miss with seasoning.

Well, the servers/bartenders are black and white, no gray area. Simply put, if you don't speak or understand Spanish, you will receive minimal service and interaction also will forget that you ordered a drink with them. Yes, this happened! The thicker female from Honduras with glasses and braces literally asked me for my drink order, left to start it and forgot that she took my order, then was on her phone. Another bartender did notice me and asked me if I would like a drink (yay to her) light skinned Colombiana with long hair. I ordered traditional tacos (3) with cilantro and onions. 20% meat and 80% onions. Garnishing should be a compliment of the topping, not the entire taco. I had to scrape off a mound of onions from the three tacos. The kicker is that they include a 18% surcharge for having a dj without telling you. This is almost double of the taxes wow! I don't care about a restaurant having a dj, I care about the purpose of me frequenting this establishment, and that's to eat. Not a terrible place, but needs ownership involvement in the operations. Also, they continue to serve alcohol to intoxicated patrons. (Violation of tennessee code annotated laws) enforced by TABC. OVERALL not terrible, just needs some supervision by ownership and management.**update** police, fire department, ambulance just arrived for the intoxicated person. This could have been avoided if he was cut off earlier from drinking.

This place is absolutely the best in the neighbourhood!!! The food was amazing (I had the pork pastor torta) and our server Maria was about as good as they get!! Definitely gonna be a regular customer here?
