I honestly laughed at the signs that said “come in as strangers, leave as family”…I did not realize this meant it was a family style restaurant. If you’re a super introvert, this place ain’t for you ? That said, there’s no menu to order from - they literally just bring giant bowls of everything and you pass it around. The tea was classic southern. Sweet and perfect. Everything was divine. Special shout out to the corn casserole and catfish because I’m not exaggerating when I say it’s the best I’ve ever had. Would HIGHLY recommend!

Family-style dining is a great change of pace. We shared the table with a family visiting from Canada, and I loved listening to them express newfound love for sweet tea and corn pudding. Monell's is more than just great fried chicken, peach preserves, and biscuits. It's an experience.
