Always have to taste the chicken sandwich and this place delivered. I got mild and it had some kick but not bad at all. I would go with mild if you can handle some heat as anything less would not have any heat. Good fries!!

Came here instead of hattie b's. this is inside the assembly food hall. the chicken was very tender and mild was spicy enough - hint of heat! I was surprised we were given Ken's homey mustard and ranch sauce ... I was hoping they made their own home sauce. Chicken is tender and juicy but if they had their own sauce i'd give it another star!

They say Princes is the original hot chicken. I'm not sure it is, because if that was a fact I don't think hot chicken would be a thing. This location is upstairs in the food hall. The staff was VERY friendly, and when I explained to them I was taking chicken back to NC to my family, they made sure to package it up so there's be. I spills it mess. The chicken itself was meh. I've had hot chicken at multiple places across Nashville, as well as some transplants in other locations. This original may well be the worst hot chicken I've had. Flavor was inconsistent. And the chicken was dry. While this location is great, as in the food hall there is something for everyone, I'd. It waste my time eating here and would try the hot chicken place downstairs on broadway... it's got that great location for a reason.

I was greeted with friendly service and positive energy. I chose "XXX-hot" level for my chicken Wings. And boy did it make me sweat a little, but it was the right amount of heat for me. I enjoyed it. It was great to check out a staple places for hot chicken in Nashville. The food hall was nice and the drinks at the bar was on point.

Went to the food hall to try Nashville famous hot chicken and it was great! The workers are very knowledgeable on the sauces and rubs. The food came out fairly quickly and was amazing. The seating area nearby is great if you have members in your party that don't want hot chicken. Amazing place to try

Nashville's legendary Prince's Hot Chicken certainly knows how to turn up the heat, and my recent visit there was a sizzling testament to their fiery reputation. Known as the original hot chicken inventor, Prince's does pack a punch that could challenge even the most seasoned spice veterans. At Prince's, it's all about tradition, with a vibe that brings you back to the roots of Nashville hot chicken. The chicken itself is robustly spicy, assaulting the senses with a level of heat that can ignite even the tamest taste buds. While this intense heat is commendable for those who crave a culinary challenge, it seems that in the fiery fray, the flavor can sometimes take a back seat. Comparing it to my experiences at Hattie B's, where the chicken felt fresher and the spice blend was not only hot but also richly flavorful, there's a discernible difference. Hattie B's manages to balance the act between spice and flavor, ensuring that each bite is as delicious as it is hot. It's a harmony of taste that complements the heat rather than being overwhelmed by it. That being said, Prince's still stands as a pillar in the Nashville hot chicken community. Its emphasis on a spice-forward profile will please purists and adventure seekers alike. The staff is down-to-earth and rooted in their local culture, which adds an authentic touch to every meal served. For those looking to trace the origins of hot chicken right back to where it all started, and for an undeniably bold spice kick, Prince's Hot Chicken is a must-visit. Just be ready to let the sweat do the talking!

I ordered through an app and picked it up from the counter so the service was somewhat quick. Took about 20 minutes after ordering to get the food. The ambiance of the food hall is lively. Would definitely go back to hang out on a Saturday night and try a variety of restaurants. To make a long story short, I didn't eat this right away, it sat for about an hour or more before I could eat it. By the time I got to it, it was still warm and crispy but it wasn't hot and fresh. I tasted a piece of the XX hot chicken first and it was very hot and tasted almost burnt or bitter. I drank two bottles of cold water then tried the medium chicken. Unfortunately I couldn't tell the spice level of the medium because my mouth was still hot from the xx hot. However it was seasoned perfectly and tasted really good. I was disappointed with the blue cheese (even though it's my fave store bought blue cheese) because I thought it would be homemade for $1.00 and the bread and pickles were all on the XX hot chicken and therefore I couldn't eat them. As a tourist my curiosity had been satisfied so I don't think I'd return but if I lived here I could see myself eating this chicken often because I love good fried chicken. *after trying the original I can finally say that a lot of the chicken branded as "Nashville hot" get it completely wrong

There was a long line but it was worth it! The spicy sandwich was definitely spicy. If you can't handle spice I would go with a low number. The service was fast and uncomplicated.

Good Chicken. It's not the best ever, but worth a try. You gotta try the original to judge every other Nashville Hot by.

Worst chicken I ever had. This place doesn’t live up to the Princes taste AT ALL. Bland. Dry. No crunchiness. Horrible. Waste of my money.

Better than Hattie B’s, but not quite the level of Lilly’s in the Farmer’s Market. Regardless, loved the spice levels and flavors. Can’t wait to return!

Burger & tots were from Pharmacy Burgers next door which I highly recommend. But for Prince's, I gotta say it was still damn good but did not live up to the hype of being the original "Nashville" Hot Chicken venue. Back home there is a local spot that the owners met Prince & got a little advice on how he made the recipe & sorry, but they perfected it so this wasn't as amazing as I hoped, BUT I still recommend for hot chicken lovers! The quality is still high, for as busy as they were the service was great, & overall I was still happy to try the OG of hot chicken & wish I didn't have stomach issues nowadays to have felt up to getting the xxx-hot because the xx-hot wasn't as hot as I assumed, but if I get another chance I definitely will go for the xxx! Again, overall I am greatly satisfied, but will probably try another location as the crowded mall scene really isn't my thing.Kid-friendliness: Got the plain tenders & fries for my kids, they loved it!
