Had a fantastic lunch there today (4/28/24). It’s run by a Husband and Wife…..a true mom n pop gem of a diner. It’s not a fancy place but was clean and nice. Add this to your must stop for lunch list on your way to/from the mountains.

Walked in for lunch. Saw the sign about staff shortage. Understand those issues. However, I and one other lady was at a table. I found a clean table and sat down and waited. Another group walked in, sat down and got immediate service. I was willing to even let that slide, but the waiter made the mistake of not acknowledging me so I walked out. Lunch hour is limited. Train employees to scan room and especially at least say, "Will be with you shortly."

We stopped in after attending an overlanding event at the Penitentiary about 10 miles away. The owner told us they were completely sold out of breakfast and needed 20 mins to clean up for lunch. It must be good if they sold out of all of their breakfast!! We waited and were served very promptly. Fried bologna was OUT OF THIS WORLD DELICIOUS!!!!!! Slightly burnt (which I love) and full of flavor. Thanks Joann!!!!!

The meatloaf was as good as mine but I didn't expect it to be cold. Will definitely be our go to when craving meatloaf. Husband had the bacon cheeseburger and said it's the best he's had in ages. I really wanted to love the Mac and cheese but it was quite bland. I saw someone else get fried okra and will definitely try it next time, looked so good.I guess they're short staffed so service was slow but loaded with personality ?

Great bacon cheeseburgers. Reminds me of the 80s at my grandmas. Coming off windrock you should stop for a quick bite.
