Tacos were juicy just the right amount of oregano perfection my first authentic chilie relleno done right since I moved here the fresh style of food reminds me of California style all homemade sauces fresh herbs my husband had the EL Maguey special large shrimp huge steak chicken breast bright problano peppers asorted veggies and to top it off shredded pork at the bottom there's no way one person can eat the whole pot they serve it in the food would easily survive in a high end atmosphere hands down im from the west coast thank you for your restaurant I now have somewhere to go!

Business lunch with some buddies from work. (That’s why no pics.) Ordered the Lunch Burrito Rancheros. Great portion, delicious meal. The chips were brought to the table warm and we never ran out. The server replaced each basket before we completely emptied it. The salsa was so very delicious. It had a great flavor and had just a hint of heat. One of our table asked for an upgrade on the heat and had another bowl brought out with a much hotter salsa. I liked blending the two to get the level of heat I enjoy. Great lunch!! Good price!

I hadn't visited this restaurant in many years, but my family recently tried it and raved about the food. The restaurant is advertising their 2 yr anniversary celebration in August 2023, so it would appear to be under new ownership.Tables, chairs, and booths were in excellent repair. I ordered a shrimp chimichanga which was good, but I found the queso sauce to be very salty. Complimentary salsa and chips were good. Guacamole was very blended and smooth, and the portion was on the small side.Excellent and friendly service.

This is hands down our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. The staff is incredible, both in quality of service as well as shear friendliness. Whether it's playing games with my three year old or playfully helping me with my Spanish. The Crew at El Maguey has never let us down, and for those reasons, it will be THE Mexican restaurant that we frequent as long as we live in the ooltewah Collegedale area.Oh, and everything is amazing, we've literally tried it all.

Okay so I'm used to California mexican food and nothing is close out here to authentic and good Mexican food. But this is pretty good so far. Went here for food and drinks. Hint, get the strawberry margarita blended!! Oh my gosh it's so freaking good!!
