We love the carpe cafe. The giant window in front and excellent seating make for wonderful train watching for people of all ages.

Dec 2023 Update: I'm so glad the Carpe has reopened! Since it's been back, I've had some delicious drinks, and ive been back 2x for the biscuits and gravy!-----------------------Always have the best coffee, nicest staff, and the coziest place to sit and edit photos.Grab some fruit tea or a caramel macchiato!New great updated menu too!

We are so happy Carpe has re-opened! It has always been a favorite spot of ours. The coffee is delicious and the bakery items are the perfect sweet treat! Definitely grab a bag of the house beans for coffee at home, too!

Great place for hand crafted Barista Drinks and breakfast foods. The coffees are from a local small batch roaster in Coffee County. The Cafe is a program of the non profit Carpe Artista which provides Career training in Entertainment and the Arts. Of course culinary is an art expression and creatives need coffee. All the food is now created through a partnership with another non profit called Sweet Addiction. Their mission is to provide culinary and business training for women coming out of addiction recovery and human trafficking. They now use the Cafe Kitchen and prepare the great quiches and Cinnamon rolls and other fresh baked goods using Carpe Cafe's long time recipes. You will love the coffee, food, people and the artsy local vibe.

Just another unassuming cafe with a relaxing feel and kind staff. I asked if they had any recommendations or new coffee, so I tried their maple latte. Subtle and so good. It was gone before I realized it. Anyway, I highly recommend a visit if you're stopping through. Easy parking right across the street, no toll.

I love this cafe. They have the type of food that I enjoy to eat and everyone is very nice and helpful and a big plus the cafe is clean. I enjoy going here I bring along a friend and turn them on to the cafe and now they are going on a regular basis and they are turning their friends on to the cafe also. We are all satisfied with this cafe.

It was great I loved the atmosphere, I went here all the time to show new friends the cafe. But they permanently closed this past Thursday, it was really sad

Great place, great staff. Food was incredibly overpriced and small.Sounds par for the course for these types of places, but stick to the coffee if you're coming here. Everything else is a bit much

I got the 16 oz London Fog Latte with soy milk and extra caramel, veggie quiche, broccoli salad, and two chocolate chip cookies. The latte wasn’t too small like I thought it’d be, it tasted really good had a very mild flavor, but I couldn’t taste any caramel. The cookies tasted a lil stale but they were really soft and pillowy and only 50 cents so I wasn't mad at them. I had high hopes for the quiche based on the reviews but the egg was lacking seasoning, I didn’t see the salt n pepper packets in my utensils till i was already done eating. I also wished the vegetables were cooked into the egg instead of just on top of it. The cheesy hash brown bottom layer kinda saved it though, and the slice was filling. My favorite item was definitely the broccoli salad. The broccoli was crisp, the dressing was yummy, and I loved the bacon bits. It was literally perfect, wouldn’t change anything abt it. The amount they give you is good too, I’ll be ordering it again for sure. My total was $16.68, I placed a pickup order over the phone and it was ready when I got there 13 min later. Everyone there was very kind, especially the person on the phone.EDITED: i think the first time i came here i just got really lucky bc i found out today that they dont actually fill the bowl of broccoli salad all the way to the top (check the pics) normally. It sucks bc i love it so much but the normal portion is just so small for the price :(( However, I was extremely grateful to the staff who corrected this for me, I felt like such a nuisance because i know this is something very minor but they were very understanding.EDITED AGAIN LOL: I just came here again today after a few months and both the potato casserole and the broccoli salad were back to being very generously portioned again, basically filled to the top!! I’m so so so happy, my meal was delicious, filling, and worth the money. Thank you sm carpe cafe! I highly recommend trying their craft sodas, the grape soda is made with real carbonated grape syrup, so delicious and refreshing :)

Charming place in the older train depot area of Smyrna. Limited menu, but what they do have has always been good. I've enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the clouds, people, cars, trains, planes, and whatever else happens to go past. Why not sit a spell and have some tea? It's just like that.

Friendly, helpful employees welcome you to this one-of-a-kind little coffee shop and cafe that also serves as the heart of Smyrna's arts community. I loved learning that the building used to be a dry cleaners decades ago. That accounts for the fact that the order counter is not the first thing you see. Walk in through the seating area until you see the chalkboard-on-a-wall with menu suggestionsParking: You're meant to park across Front Street in the 17-space lot adjacent to the storage facility. There's a crosswalk for safely crossing the street, but I have always found plenty of open spaces in the lot. Sandwiched between the railroad tracks and Front St., this little lot may not be the first thing you notice, but once you've found it, parking is not a problem at Carpe Cafe!Dietary restrictions: I have enjoyed gluten-free options from the bakery case. I don't know if gluten-free is always available, but it is often.Of course plant-based milks for the drinks are always an option.
