Haven't been Jack of Hearts since covid started and heard that JOH was closing their doors at the end of this week, so made a point to stop by one last time. Now I remember why I didn't frequent the place all that often. The service bordered between pitiful and terrible. The setup of the place is partially to blame, as the cashier you order your food from has to constantly run back and forth between cash register and the kitchen leaving nobody at the ordering counter. Customers coming in are left wondering what the hell is going on with nobody at the counter. But the underlying reason for this poor review was the unfriendly, arrogant cashier with an attitude to match. My order sat on the counter for at least 20 minutes as she walked by several times and couldn't be bothered to give me my order. Then blamed me because I wore a mask and then refused to apologize for the piss poor service. Food was ok but can't get past the lousy service. Waited about a hour before getting my to go order.

I live in North Carolina, and every time I drive through Nashville, even if it's an hour out of the way, I make sure to get two pulled pork sandwiches. They are simply the best in the industry.

I'm super disappointed because the other reviews are so positive, but this was a really bad meal. The pulled pork is incredibly dry to the point of being hard to chew and the sides.... I ordered the medium size. I don't know what a small is, but good golly. Four dollars for the weakest excuse for mac and cheese I've ever seen. Almost no cheese sauce and the portion is... Wow. Nothing about this experience was positive.

We went for lunch on Saturday at noon and first ones in the door. We ordered dry rub ribs a full and a half slab with sides of slaw, hella beans and potato salad. The ribs were excellent, hot and juicy not dry. The hella beans were non traditional side. They were quite spicy but very tasty. The potato salad was made with red potatoes it appeared not over powered by any one ingredient. It was a nice atmosphere and everything we tried was above expectations. We highly recommend JOH and we will be back.
It's always nice but mildly frustrating when going to Jack of Hearts, but perhaps not for the reasons you'd assume. The food is top-notch and priced around what you'd expect. The portions are healthy and the staff has always been friendly to me. The frustration comes from them never being busy. At most I've seen five other customers, which always worries me that they won't be able to keep their doors open.

Really friendly staff, great food, awesome outdoor seating. Got bbq fries with brisket and will definitely get it again. Without a doubt, recommend this place.

Ladies and gentlemen I have to say I've been alive for some time now and this place has some of if not the best brisket ever. Friendly employees accompanied by delicious food and a clean environment how could you beat it.
