On a side street in Historic downtown Springfield, is this quiet unassuming restaurant that we found quite by accident.Upon entry, it reminded me of an old Irish or English pub. The music was top 40 from the 70's-90's and the food was great! It had tables in addition to a bar along the back right side.We had a very enjoyable meal...far more to eat than we could finish! My baked spaghetti was cheesy, perfect texture and flavorful! My husband thoroughly enjoyed their Shepherd's Pie, one of his favorites! We hung around long enough to chat, enjoy dessert with coffee; carrot cake and rasberry cheese cake...definitely tops in my book!We will be going back again soon! Bon' Appetite!

Very sad to say this restaurant is not what it used to be. I’m not sure what has changed as far as management in the last year but this place has really gone downhill. Food quality has also decreased by a lot as well.

We lucked out and got into the St Patrick's Day Chefs table event last minute. The food was fantastic, the drinks were festive and delicious. Thanks so much for letting us in late, we look forward to our next visit soon!

We’ve been here twice. The first time was about 6 months ago and was outstanding all around. We’d heard it had really gone downhill, but decided to give it a shot. They were not busy at all. We were seated, given water, and no further service, even after eye contact with two servers and acknowledgment that we were waiting to at least order drinks. Walked out after 15 mins. No need to try this place out again.

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Springfield. You’d drive right past it if you didn’t know it was there BUT it’s worth the stop! The people are always kind and seem incredibly happy to be there. They play great music and have different options for food. I love it!

/24: we sat at a table for 25 min and no one served us. This place had gone downhill. Very frustrating. We asked to speak to the server 3 times. The girls behind the counter are apparently only there to seat people and not actually do anything. No going here again.

I had the fish and chips and my wife had the pimento cheese sandwich. Good atmosphere and wonderful food. A lot of people on a Friday night who seemed like regulars. Glad Springfield has a place like this.

We decided to have the Monte Christo french toast. It was moist, flavorful, and just an all-around delicious choice.

What a wonderful experience! This place is so quaint and cute, love the ambience. Stephanie the bartender/waitress was so attentive and one of the kindest people I've ever met! She was able to accommodate our large party for my best friends birthday! And the food is delicious and not to mention the drinks! Stephanie makes some mean drinks so delicious! Definitely will be back and highly recommend! I had the fresh catch which was red snapper with mashed potatoes and greens!

I had a last minute issue with a restaurant I had planned to use for my birthday party which left me struggling to find a place to accommodate a group of 16. The night before said party Stephanie at Public House agreed to make it work for us, and had no issue splitting checks as needed. The service itself was amazing, the food was really good, and the ambience was so nice and cozy. I appreciate them being so willing to make it happen for me. I highly recommend Public House.

Visited for my wife's birthday, she first looked online to see if the chicken/ Tyme/rosemary dish was still available, and it was. Got there, wasn't busy, waitress says that dish has been gone from menu for 6 months. She orders a chicken Alfredo dish, I ordered shrimp and grits. Service was very slow, food arrived and we ate. Portions were so small I was still hungry when we left. Grits were good but lost on large plate, Alfredo was rather bland. We won't be back. For $45 I either should have been stuffed full or been taking leftovers home for tomorrow's lunch. Should have went to the Depot.
