Tried out Jim Bob's BBQ after a day in the Smokies. They were very short staffed but our waitress was very nice and attentive. The food was a mix of good and bad. The pulled pork that I got was good. The best part about this restaurant was the BBQ sauces. Mild, Spicy and Hot. Although, if you ask me the Hot wasn't all that Hot but still good flavor. From there though the food was somewhat bland. My wife got the Mesquite Chicken. The rub was good but the chicken was very dry. The sides left much to be desired. The fries weren't very crispy and the green beans were unseasoned. The potato salad was decent.Considering there aren't a ton of choices in Townsend, Jim Bob's a decent choice. Just expect average to good food, but not excellent.

I was there today and ordered the ribeye steak. Wow was that amazing if you’re in there area you really need to try this. Forget about A1 and Heinz 57 sauce try their apple moonshine barbecue sauce. The stake is so good you don’t need a sauce my friend ate hers without any sauce she loved it. Also, my daughter loves their smoked chicken. My son had a hamburger from there and he said it was really good. My son-in-law had a brisket and he said it was the best he ever tasted Good food, good service. Awesome atmosphere. What more could you ask for?Parking: There is plenty of parkingKid-friendliness: There was 11 of us to a more of a small children. They have high chairs for the small ones. they gave us cups with lids, so the younger ones didn’t spill anything they were constantly filling our classes we never had to ask for anything super service.

The energy was off as soon as we walked in the door here. I wasn’t greeted at all, but rudely asked “how can I help you” by the hostess. After asking if we could order takeout, I was rudely told “you’re gonna have to wait. I have to check out my party, but you can look at a menu.” Not a smile in sight. So much for southern charm.Fine. I took the menu and sat in the first available chair at which point a somewhat nicer waitress came and asked if I had been helped and offered to take my order. I thanked her and asked for a moment to look at the menu. She walked away not even 5min later, came back to tell the hostess that “he” had closed the kitchen. At which point the hostess looks at me and says “welp. Sorry. Kitchen’s closed.”As a fellow southerner, I always look forward to traveling to try different bbq and the southern charm that comes with it. I barely made it through the door before I realized that I wasn’t going to get this good service, and the “kitchen closed” at 8:52pm, I didn’t even get to try the food.

Possibly the worst BBQ we've ever had. Brisket looked days old and may as well have been jerky. Pulled pork was also at least a few days old, may have been frozen and reheated. No one finished their meals, as we were leaving they were telling people they had a nearly 30 minute wait (even though it was nearly empty inside) and several left to go elsewhere; wish we'd gotten there a bit later and had left too.

Owner appears to be kind of a weird guy, saw him losing his mind on kids riding bikes in his empty parking lot. Decided not to patronize his business after witnessing that, so I haven't tried the food and wouldn't do so with all the incredible other food options in Townsend.

The food could have definitely been better. The location itself is pretty nice, unfortunately the attitude not so much. During our trip today we got to see an older gentleman, whom I think may be an owner scream at some children for being near his empty parking lot. The situation escalated to the point that the police were called to deal with the gentleman. Apparently this happens a good bit. Clearly whoever this man is, he has no business being allowed to operate such a place. Probably should worry more about the garbage he sells as food instead of the parking lot.

I got the 6oz Sirloin and it was seasoned so good, cooked correct and we didn't have to wait long at all. The owner and his wife are super sweet and I enjoyed my diner. Highly recommend!

My family and I stopped in town for a couple nights on our way back to PA after spending Christmas in AL. We were in the mood for Barbecue, so we gave this place a try. We walked in and there was a couple waiting to be seated as well as a couple waiting by the register to pay their bill. A lady who appeared to be the hostess shows up to take care of the paying couple, then disappeared. She showed up a couple minutes later to take care of another paying customer, then disappeared again. Long story short, we stood there for almost 20 minutes without so much as a “we’ll be right with you” spoken to us or the couple in front of us who has been waiting when we walked in. So we walked out and drove down the street and was given proper service at the steak and trout place. Pathetic!!

We ate at this restaurant Friday and Saturday night. Called in orders for 6 people both nights. All orders were correct and complete! The smoked wings were a hit with everyone. Smoked brisket and pulled pork was equally good!! Cowboy beans and the potato salad were good sides too!! Thanks to Ms. Lisa for making our first visit here a good one!!
