Southern Restaurants near White House

“On 02/20/2024 I googled for country kitchen and this is the place I got I walked in was greeted very gracefully. The food smelled great from the door. They help me get my meat and three and a chocolate pie. Then I took it to the park to eat it. I want to tell you these three ladies can cook and yes it’s home cooking and homemade pies and for a single man I enjoyed every bit of it I Will be telling everybody about this place. The only drawback to the whole thing is it’s takeout only and if they had a place to sit and enjoy your dinner or lunch, this place would be over the top and customers.“

“Enjoy cracker Barrel very much food is always good seating, same as every other Cracker Barrel. This time there was a couple with young children who wind and cried through the whole dinner. Not Cracker Barrel‘s fault. The waitress must’ve been new She’s not up to speed yet but doing good“

“I ordered a bacon cheese burger and the the patty had to be close to 1/3 of a pound plus lots of bacon that was nice and crispy. The fries were thick and cooked to perfection. The waitress was very kind and the price was cheaper than most places for a burger so thick.Parking: Theirs parking infront of the place amd across the road.Wheelchair accessibility: No curbs so can just roll on in.“

“It has been a while since we tried Jake's Place.. I was pleased at the offerings on the menu; fish had hushpuppies with it, slaw available, and of course, french fries were on the menu. I can't remember if there were white beans or not, and I like white beans or baked beans with my fish. The fish was really good with no "muddy" flavor, and the portion was plentiful. Their burger was good. It did seem a little higher priced than other similar food options. What will possibly prevent me from returning is the vibe that I got from the tin pan and basket on which the food was served. Also, the "hushpuppies" didn't seem to have any onions in them, and they were a "sweet" cornbread, which I have never had in hushpuppies before. If these two things were changed as well as the huge potholes in the back parking lot, I would be excited about Jakes' Place as another meat and 3 option.“

“Stopped by for the Friday fish fry. Catfish was great. I'm not usually a big fan of Cole Slaw but it was some of the best I've ever had while eating out. . Nice family oriented restaurant. Looking forward to trying the rest of the “
