My wife and I were in Whitwell, TN on vacation and this is the first place we chose to eat. When we got to the restaurant, we got excited because the parking lot was full of locals (we knew the food was going to be great when we saw this). Cafe 28 is not just a good restaurant in an area that does not have a lot options, it’s a great restaurant whose food is better than most from McMinnville to Chattanooga. It is definitely worth the detour south if heading past Dunlap or the detour north if heading past jasper. Or a quick drive down from lookout mountain. Was passing through on buisness and was fortunate enough to stop at such a great eatery. Have now been back several times and it never disappoints.
