There are numerous locations in Abilene and we stopped at the one on the north side of town. The food is average — but order a dinner plate and not just a burrito. They charged almost $4 for a bean and meat burrito that was very small.

We called our order in and they said about 20 minutes. My son went in to get the order, waited another 10-15 minutes just to be told they LOST the paper that our order was on. We ordered ahead because we had a two hour trip ahead of us. So now we have to wait again to see if they make our order. SAD part is they didn't even offer a discount or offer to give us the food since their staff lost our order. Will never come to this location again?

Heard this place was good but I tried it for myself and let me tell you. The food is horrible and the customer service even worse. Good has no taste ladies are rude I asked for a green hot sauce and the lady said no in a angry voice and walked away worst expirenece do not come here I recommend going to mi ranchito instead will not disappoint !

Excellent breakfast burritos! At $2.89 each, the price is less than I usually pay for a taco in Austin. The size is on the smaller side, so I ended up getting two with different ingredients and both were so tasty! Burritos could have been slightly hotter in temperature, but still good. They have plenty of indoor seating across two rooms & I definitely recommend giving this place a try.

Fabulous Food. I'm from out town starting at the Hendrick Medical Lodge, I used the Favor Runner service... it took over an hr to get food from 2 blocks away.On the other hand: this is what they call a plate, it's enough to feed 4 people.

I used to love this place, been going here for nearly 30 years. The problem is you never know when they are going to be open or not. I’ve been there many times when they are supposed to be open and they were closed. I was there one morning at the drive through at 6:15 am. Online says open 6am the window says 6am. I’m sitting in the drive through and I see people inside and someone walks by the window multiple times but know one stops. Tried to call them but no one answers.

Pretty good breakfast tacos. I thought the bacon was a bit undercooked and lacked flavor, but the tortillas were excellent. I could have just eaten those with some butter. Delicious.

I had lunch at this La Popular on Pine Street today. I was pleasantly surprised at how large the inside of this location was! The location on South Treadway is pretty small and the one that used to be located on Barrow and South 14th was very small. So it was nice to see so many tables and all the space available for a large crowd. The food was delicious and homemade. I had the taco plate which came with FOUR tacos, refried beans, and Mexican rice. I substituted the beans with another order of rice. They are very flexible and helpful. Everything was delicious and super fresh! My husband ordered the beef and cheese quesadilla plate which also came with beans and rice. He loved every bite and cleared his plate. I would definitely recommend this La Popular restaurant, for breakfast (absolute BEST breakfast burritos anywhere in Abilene), lunch, and dinner. ALSO! Don't forget their bakery goodies! Great pastries and breads! If you haven't been here before, definitely go visit them for some awesome Mexican food!P.S. Check out these colorfully painted walls and decorations! Loved it! ???
