Everything was Pricey... Quality of coffee was not worth the extra charged

The ordering of the food was very easy. The greeter at the door was super. Our food arrived pretty quickly. I requested eggs medium and they both were over easy. We ordered two Bloody Marys and had to ask about four or five times. My sisters was not even drinkable the mixology was so off. I added alot of pepper and Tabasco but left 3/4 of the drink. She also ordered a Diet Coke which after repeated requests arrived mid-meal.Our poor waitress struggled with English. It was difficult to ask and for her to understand ketchup, mustard, salt and pepper. I got up and retrieved them from the bar.The manager was extremely nice and removed my sisters drink from her ticket. I didn't say anything. The pancakes and the potatoes were delicious.Overall, the ambiance was good.

Greeted by Kendall you'd think you're at Heavens' gates! Great start for a visit. The ice cream was smooth and sweetened to perfection. Can't wait to try the sample all the cakes we're taking home!

It is really hard to find places that accommodate autoimmune diseases and food allergies, and Black Walnut Cafe had an array of gluten-free items that do not include dairy products, so, they are safe for casein allergies as well!Reilly and Amy at the register checked ingredients for me, and made sure everything was wheat and dairy free! I felt very safe with my food choices.Thank you!!!Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free/Wheat allergy, Dairy/Casein allergy

It was pretty good, but I was a little disappointed. I ordered the chicken and waffle with a side of skinny fries, a cappuccino with extra espresso and a iced tea. Everything overall was alright. The chicken tasted alright, the waffle and maple syrup were the best part, the cappuccino tasted nice and creamy, but the size of the fries was horribly small. It was so sad because they tasted great, but it was like they gave me french fry scraps. There wasn't a single whole fry in that "batch." Also the way you order is very awkward and hard, you'll have to get up repeatedly to get anything, so if you have difficulty with movement, you won't have a waiter here to bring you everything needed. It was still all good, I'd eat it again, but avoid the sides, they're not worth it.

I am never going to fully like a place that doesn't have table service, so I marked down for that. Personal opinion, of course, but then again this is my rating. I was taken a little by surprise before I even walked in because they are a cashless restaurant and they have this lettered onto the door. When you go in, it's open seating and you seat yourself. We were greeted at the door and the prices was explained and each person was provided a menu. Then, you go to the counter to place your order and pay up front. Then you get your own drink from the fountain, etc and return to your seat. Then your food is brought to the table which is identified by a numbered coaster that they give you when you order. The one exception to this is the bar, which is full service. While I was disappointed by the table service situation, the food did make up for it. I had the Nashville hot chicken Benedict and it was excellent! I ate every bite and everyone else at the table did the same. The prices are reasonable - not cheap but not expensive either; most entrees are in the $14-15 range.

Ordered out from Black Walnut Cafe Allen. Ordered the Pot Roast on 3/29. This was so disappointing. I had like 4 bite sized pieces of meat and fat. I mean, really? Are you really serious about giving a customer that for a "meal" for the price tag? I've always had good experiences at Black Walnut but that is beyond ridiculous. If that's really the protocol for this entree you should take it off your menu.
