Passing by it may not seem like anything other than the average food truck, but the appearance is deceiving. “One of our go to Taco spots in McAllen. There isn’t too many great taquerias in McAllen (shout out to Hidalgo)but Super Burgers on 10th is one of the best in McAllen. Panchos go hard here, no bagged chips or nacho cheese here. Their menu is kind crazy but our kids love it, especially the hot Cheeto burger. Tortillas are all hand made. Service was fast and responsive.Only thing I can complain about is the beans are just okay, and they only had one salsa that wasn’t very spicy.To get an idea of the vibes, I brought a coworker from West Virginia here one time who didn’t know a word of Spanish. The staff legit asked me confused “no sabe nada de español?” ? is a bit of a hole in the wall, but those are always the best taco spots.“

The ice cream was amazing and they have a great selection of Fountain drinks I love that they're always playing classics as well over the speaker which I love. “This is the place to be on Sunday nights in the valley. No other establishments across the valley can rival it. It's beyond lively with the amount of patrons. However, majority don't show up till midnight or slightly later. Meanwhile, the service at the bar is hit or miss. Possible favoritism with certain people but that is also any bar. Like it's packed, but not Friday/Saturday slammed. Additionally, they include a 20% gratitude. Maybe fellow patrons were being cheap? Idk. For the record, I have yet to eat there. Does have a decent amount of high tables and some booths however.“
“Just went there for lunch. They are located in the Mercado District. The fried chicken sandwich was so delicious! The chicken was tender and juicy and had just the right amount of heat. I don't usually like coleslaw but theirs was really tasty and complimented the sandwich well. I got a waffle fries as my side that needed a bit of seasoning but were pretty good. I also had to try their Bernie Mac and it was some of the best Mac and cheese I've had! Highly recommend. The Mercado district is pretty nice for grabbing a bite to eat with friends and then walking around to shop. The service was fast. They sent you a text once your food is ready. “Been driving past this truck countless times and finally had a chance to try them out. I’m a big mollejas fan…and was so excited yet nervous to order…I’ve been not impressed by many places so far with mollejas…but this is by far the best place for it! Most places I’ve tried it’s either fried and or overly cooked and turns crispy. These are Plump and tender and smoky charred flavor. Definitely coming back!!! Only thing they forgot salsa, but that was ok since I make my own salsa for situations like this. Also orderd the bistec tacos. Honesty it was a bit dry and needed more seasoning but the grilled onions were packed with flavor so makes up for it.“

However, after meeting my brother at the location I decided on having the sirloin tips a favorite of mine that I have not gotten in a while. We placed the order and my brothers fish and shrimp was yummy! Mine though, I was disappointed. The portion was smaller than what I have been served in the past, but I didnt mind at all what I did not like was the flavor. It had a reheated taste to it and it some were well done or med well when I had asked for medium. The manager did allow for me to swap out my dish for something else. I truly appreciate the discretion and the quick turn out time. I am one very happy customer, will definitely return to this location.“
“A group of friends and myself visited IHOP about 9:30pm. It was about 12 in our party. The seating was not an issue, and we were seated comfortably by our waiter. Everyone ordered and our drinks and food came out hot and at a reasonable time. I especially want to commend this particular IHOP for their very clean and fresh smelling men's restroom. A clean restroom says alot about the restaurant. Kudos!I do have one suggestion that I think needs to be noted. When there is a large group, the waiter or waitress should do their best to separate grouped tickets. Placing all item on one ticket can pose a problem, especiallywhenthecustomerask fir everything to be put on separate tickets. In my experience visit, I was the last to pay for my meal. The employee noticed that there was still a meal that wasn't paid. I didn't have to pay it nor was I obligated to do so, but I did so because these were my friends, I know it wasn't done intentionally and I didn't want IHOP to get shorted either. Clearly it was an oversight, but this is what happens when everything is put on one ticket, not all the time but it can happen, someone gets stuck paying for something they didn't order. Good beginning experience but a sour ending.“

“I absolutely love and completely recommend Downtown Chicken to anyone/everyone looking for an extremely delicious burger, the freshest and the juiciest fried chicken - that I have ever had! They do have other foods to offer - all of which I also highly recommend, and all of their prices are extremely affordable. In my opinion they are just too good to pass up. I consider Downtown Chicken a staple in McAllen history as they have been open and in the same location for as long as I can remember (which is well over 30 years!). The owner is very friendly, and caring, he is and always has been the order-taker/cashier/cook, his employees are very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is very comfortable and clean. Despite being an outdoor place, it is very well ventilated and clean. They do have restrooms, which are also very clean : for paying customers and employees only - of course - and the roof is completely covered, so no eating in the sun. Whether you're shopping downtown or you just have a craving for some delicious food, Downtown Chicken is the spot to look for! I finally remembered to take a photo!, the nachos and everything else was basically finished so they aren't completely in the photo, Lol!
