We stop at The Daily Special Cafe every time we come to Alvarado—which is often. Prices are reasonable. The Daily Special is popular with locals. It’s the food. Check out our photos to see what I mean. We always order breakfast (served all day). Based on how delicious their breakfast is, I feel confident the rest of the menu is prepared just as well. The decorations are from the “down home” design school. Lots of license plates, metal chickens, and coffee mugs. The Daily Special is in a strip center next door to Brookshire Brothers supermarket. Alvarado is conveniently located at the intersection of Interstate 35W and Hwy 67 about halfway between Fort Worth and Waco. Worth your time and money.

I had chicken fried chicken spinach mashed potatoes in a row with banana pudding add water for the drink and it was all under 20 bucks very nice staff lady was very helpful they have good food add a clean building thank you for the good foodKid-friendliness: Nice waitress

I ordered the crispy chicken salad and fried mushrooms. The total cost was $18.14 which included a charge of .78 cents for a plastic knife and fork. The chicken was really good but other than that it was pretty basic for the cost. Definitely over priced.
