fyi the gumbo is not seafood but imitation crab meat sausage shrimp and shredded chicken. Taste good but it was Friday during lent and I cld not eat it. Waitress said it was seafood gumbo. I am from New Orleans and it was not. Next day it was good though after picking out the imitation grab. Large portions of Catfish and shrimp. The 2 Catfish and 6 shrimp was plenty to eat! I wld go back.Kid-friendliness: Kids meals.

I don't normally do all 5 stars but the food was hot and fresh, everything was seasoned perfectly! We had the 3 fish, 3 shrimp and 3 oysters platter they split chicken gizzard/okra Red beans/rice and Hush Puppies . Tarter sauce is important for me and theirs Hit the spot . BIG Portions for the very reasonable prices !!Fish 8/10 Shrimp 6/10 Oysters 9/10 Red Beans/rice 8/10 Hush Puppies 5/10 Tarter Sauce 7/10 Portion size 10/10Everything we had was amazing I follow reviews on Roadtrips to eat ! Please don't pass this up ! MS IVYs service was Amazing, super friendly and attentive!!! If going thru make sure to stop here, it's a MUST!!!

Meh, it's ok, but not that great. Decent food, but tends to be a bit greasy at times. Service was fairly good. Inside, the environment is bland but clean enough (it's a re-purposed restaurant). No decorations, no theme, just chairs and tables. Nothing special, but not terrible, nor phenomenal. Just ok.

So i go here several times a year and it always has great food. usually the service is ok, never great but not bad at all but last night it was terrible. our family arrived about 5:30 and we were seated immediately. our waiter got our drink order and took off after them. when he returned he took our order and was gone. We sat there and watched 3 other tables get seated and all 3 received there food so we asked our waiter about ours. He told us that he had just turned it in because we had just arrived. I had told him we had been there for 30 mins, but he refused to hear that. When we got our food from another waiter the beans & rice were cold, and the fish orders were missing the fries. He said he would go get it. We finished half our meal before he returned. When i went to pay our $40 bill they did take $3 off of it which is kind of a small amount concidering all the disruptions. I have this moto if the service is bad it does not matter how good the food is i will not be returning. i hope they correct this problem because they do have good food.

Service was extremely terrible. 3 tables that came in behind us had there food 10 mins before we did. The server never turned our order in but then tried to tell us we just got there. Finally got our food and the rice and beans were cold and 2 of the orders was missing the fries. We did get the fries half way through our meal. They did put a $3 discount on our $40 order. The food was good but I'm sorry if the service is bad it's all bad. They just lost a customer here.

We absolutely love coming here to eat! Ivory has become our FAVORITE waitress! She's very attentive and so personable. Such a sweet person! And the food...wow, it's the best catfish and fried oysters in the area!!! They also have a specials menu with great prices, ask for it! Thanks to the whole staff there. We'll be back as often as we can.

I can't comment as to the atmosphere because I ordered online and picked up at the window.The food was excellent! Best catfish I've had in a while! One 6-piece dinner, with fries and hush puppies, can easily feed 2 people. Also added a side of onion rings & okra. All great! I didn't have the burger, but 1 member of our party said it was great as well. Very affordable. Fed 3 adults for $40.

Tried this place for lunch, not expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised. Staff was very friendly and service was fast. Food came out hot and delicious. Will definitely be back.

The food at Sam's is always delicious. We have both dined in and gotten delivery and the food quality didn't suffer. Service when you dine in is top notch! I would highly recommend if you're looking for fried seafood or fried livers, gizzards, or okra.
