I am not calling The Big Texan a 5 star hotel-i am saying my experience and purchase was top notch and getting the best rating by me.1) great location for cross country stop.(easy off and easy on to route)2) cute little hotel front3) standing room in shower-huge bonus to me(6'1") AND plenty of shower pressure.4) Keurig coffee maker-not the single fill but the kitchen classic-5 cup tank on side.5) plenty of Keurig k-cups in room. 3 regular, a few decaf n teas. And a little coffee mess for sugars/creams. But multiple cups of regular in room is pretty rare these days.6) txt communication with responsive concierge(?) Including a message with key code for straight room entrance.Great stay for the dollar.

It was a beautiful place! Our room was aesthetic and very comfortable after a long day of driving. We arrived late, then went next door to eat. If you’re super hungry, this is the place to be, otherwise the food is huge here in the Big Texan! Might want to downsize your plate to something smaller, because everyone walks out with to-go boxes. The only complaints we had was that the water pressure was extremely high and it blows you to the wall, the second was that the people upstairs were jumping on the beds and yelling up until 1am and we didn’t get sleep. Otherwise, if you’re stopping, this is the place to be!

The Big Texan has nice clean rooms.They are bigger than some of the more modern hotels. And they have a very western feel to them. Bat wing doors going to the bathroom area. With hardwood floors throughout. Which considering they are very pet friendly is the only way to go.The young lady at front desk when I checked in was very friendly and helpful. Thank you Heather for all your help.If you have horses you are traveling with (I wasn't but some do.) They have corrals and a barn area that appeared to be clean. I stayed here in mid March so wasn't hot. So I didn't notice any odors of nature. LolThey do have parking for your big RV'S and big trucks behind the restaurant. It could use some work to fill in the huge potholes.And finally if your a carnivore the world famous Big Texan Steakhouse is right next door. I have eaten there many times. (I'm an over the road truck driver) and I have never had a bad experience there.Would definitely recommend staying here.Rooms: Big and roomyFood & drinks: The Big Texan Steakhouse has awsome steaks and drinks!!

Stayed here while on the way to Utah from Southeast Texas. The room was awesome. For the price, it was much more than expected. It had a western country theme and felt so comfy and homey. I loved the inside of the door. Everyone who stayed there signed the door. Very cool.

The restaurant and bar are excellent, especially once you’ve got used to the “everything’s bigger in Texas” experience! Hotel rooms are comfortable and frankly underpriced - far better than a chain motel. The pipes are a little finicky, so Englishmen, please don’t expect a comfortable bath - this is shower country. But for a cross-country road trip, the Big Texan can’t be beat.Rooms: Warm and well-furnished with a strong Texan vibe.

We really enjoyed this motel. It was clean and comfortable and after a long day at Palo Dura Canyon the warm shower was amazing. We definitely recommend. The Big Texan steakhouse was great also!Noteworthy details: This place will give you the Route 66 vibe!
