Railway is NO LONGER serving lunch - only catering! ONE of the saddest discoveries of my year!

Absolutely delicious! I got the grilled portobello sandwich and some perfectly crispy sweet potatoes fries. All was so amazing. A great destination to stop while in the piney area of Texas.

Good food and service. Clean and quiet atmosphere. Easy to converse with wait staff and members of a party.

Food is fantastic. But would not have driven from Mabank to eat if l had known they were closed for summer break. Google and other places said they were open.

Nice lunch with the grandkids, ages 3 & 5. The kids had pasta and fruit. Must have been good they are it all. Service and chicken salad was excellent.

Hopefully it was just an off day, but our experience was very different than the other reviews. My family of five was headed from Dallas to Palestine to drop our daughters off at summer camp. We planned to stop at Railway Cafe for lunch along the way based off of a recommendation. When we arrived we were told there would be a 20 min wait. We patiently waited outside in 105 degree heat and after 20 mins I went in to check on our table. We were starting get in a pinch on time and wanted to see if we should maybe head to another destination. Once entering I noticed that it was a small place but had at least four open tables. I asked the woman at the front if we would be able to be seated soon. She was possibly the owner or manager. She was dressed in knee length cut off shorts and a floral blouse with light colored wavy hair. She looked at me with a smile on her face and said in a snarky tone "Oh sure why don't I just seat you and send everyone that is in front of you over to you to deal with" Whaaat??? This response was so over the top to my very polite question. I replied with, no, no one is in front of us. She randomly shouts a name at me that she is insinuating is in front of us. At this point I say nothing more. She is clearly set off and is losing it on me. NUTS! It was the most uncomfortable bizarre lunch. Food was mediocre and our bill was $100 for lunch for a party of five. I highly recommend finding anywhere else to eat.

This place has no variety! This is a ladies brunch type of place not a family restaurant!Ordered a hamburger and the patty was almost the size of the bottom of the coke can and the price was 8 dollars! We left and it was a waste of our time!
