Wonderfully fresh sushi! This place is a welcome addition to the Austin sushi scene. Now we just need a location down south!! I haven't tried the Sandos but the sushi is fresh and delicious. Prepare to spend an arm and a leg but the quality is worth it and the lack of fast casual and good quality sushi places in Austin makes this worth the trek for me. I also love that they make their own soy sauce and give you fresh wasabi. Those things set them apart even more. Anytime it's convenient for me to stop in here for lunch I make it happen!

Sushi 5/5, Sando's 4/5, ambiance 4/5. We came to get my Japanese convenience store Sando fix. We were able to grab the KFC and strawberry, although very good and appreciate the upscale version of the katsu sando, I would have preferred the simple classic Japanese Lawson version. The sushi was incredible, we love how the boxes comes in pairs of eat nigiri which makes it a perfect shareable option. Loved the flavors and the assortment of seafood.

This is a really cute store with Japanese authenticity that is a rarity in Texas. I hope to return and try the Omakase at some point - but for now this review is limited to the sandos. I definitely recommend the variety sando - the seafood sandos were a standout while I felt the katsu sandos were average. Great place to try - wasn't completely blown away but will edit when I try the omakase Would I Go Out of My Way to Try? Yes Would I Return? Yes to try Omakase, probably not for repeat sandos Ambiance- 7/10 (small, more of a grab-and-go style) Food Taste- 7/10 Service- 8/10 Value- 7/10

I am updating this review because I went recently and chose different sandoos that were SO good. The lobster sandoo was really good. My daughter enjoyed an avocado sandoo. They are very generous with fillings. They lobster was by far my favorite.

come early before they run out! my sister and i went around 12 and there was a line out the door but went by quickly. i would recommend their sweet sandos over their savory. the strawberry mango was impeccable but the pescado was just ok. the sushi box was delicious though so i would choose that over a sando!

Preorder is a must! Unless you wanna stand in line before they open to grab something... but why. Just preorder and CHOOse a time to pick it up. It's a locally owned restaurant with maybe 5 tables inside. We had the 10pcs sushi and seared sake. Everything was 10/10. Will be back to try the sandos!!

Choo Sando is no doubt my favorite sushi spot in Austin. All of their sushi and fruit sandwiches I've tried have been 10/10. I've come here a handful of times and have always been so impressed! For the fruit sandwiches ($11.50) I've tried the strawberry mango, and the strawberry kiwi. I think I like the flavor of the mango one the best but both were amazing. The whipped cream is so light and fluffy and the bread is so soft and sweet. Now I have to get a fruit sandwich every time I come because they are literal heaven. For sushi I've had the Ikura, sake toro, and uni Don ($44) which was my absolute favorite sushi. This comes with seaweed, homemade soy sauce and a miso soup. The uni was so fresh and delicious which was a pleasant surprise. This was the last sushi option available when I came in the afternoon, make sure you get there early if you want more of a selection. I probably wouldn't have ordered this one if there was more variety available but I am so glad I tried it because it's my favorite. I've also tried the daily sushi box chef choice 7 pieces of sushi & futomaki ($34) which was great. My only complaint was that there was wasabi under the nigiri and I am not a fan of wasabi so it ruined the flavor for me. If I knew there was wasabi hiding between the fish and the rice I wouldn't have ordered this. My friend liked it though! The last sushi option I tried was a variation of the sake don that had 72 hour cold aged salmon and seared salmon with chili oil. This was fantastic and not too spicy. I've only gotten food to go here but there is also seating if you want to eat there which is cute. I love how it's all packaged and ready to go for a picnic. The service has always been great. 10/10 highly recommend checking this place out, and again make sure you get there close to opening if you want more variety because they sell out fast!

We ordered the 18 piece box for a work celebration. I got to say, I have eaten my share in my years, but never did I pick up a meal packaged with care, love and beauty as this gorgeous box of sandwiches. Beautiful sturdy box tied with a beautiful ribbon with extra sauce perfectly glued to the top of the box. I drove from their store to our office downtown, not a drop was spilled in my car. Amazing! I walked in, they had the order ready, professional service with a smile. When I got to the office, we couldn't wait to dig in, opened the box and had a field day! It was absolutely delicious! The bread was a bit soggy, but it certainly didn't stop any of us from inhaling it. Presentation & service is absolutely 5 stars.

Choo Sando is an experience. When you walk in, the restaurant greets you with very friendly staff, a clean and inviting atmosphere, and an appealing array of food options. I’ve visited many times for their sandos, but most recently decided to try the sushi/sashimi plates. Everything that I’ve eaten from this restaurant has been the highest quality and tastes delicious. I would highly recommend Choo Sando to everyone!Quick note: arrive first thing when they open to ensure nothing is sold out by the time you arrive. There will be a line!

Choo Sando truly stands out as a gem, particularly for those seeking high-quality sushi and sando at prices that don't break the bank. Their offerings are not just affordable, but the quality and freshness of their selection are amazing!!! I had to visit Choo Sando twice during my stay in Austin, waiting outside even before they open just to snag the sando and sushi that I wanted. I wasn't the only person waiting right outside before they open, so you better make sure to get here early and line up! It's important to note that their sushi and sando options tend to sell out quickly, leading to a reduced selection as the day progresses. My personal favorites are below: 1. Pescado Sando - fried fish that is still moist and flaky! The sando is creamy due to having both avocado and tartar sauce. A fish sandwich that I will never forget! 2. Ebi Sando - fried shrimp to perfection with a bouncy translucent meaty interior paired with a creamy sauce and slaw. PERFECTION! 3. Spicy Scallop & Sake Don - Amazing texture from the spicy scallops and the butteriness from the salmon accompany with nori to make your own handroll! 4. Seared Sake - Explosive in flavor from the smokiness and the chili oil! (everything is better with chili oi)

Fresh and so yummy!!! I order ahead to pick up which was a great idea. When I got there to get the food they were pretty much sold out of everything. I got the strawberry and assortment of the sandwiches. You can't go wrong with the fruit one so good and not as sweet. The sandwiches was great too, there are ones I like more like the lobster, Katsu etc. in general though they are all tasty. I also got some sushi and omg they are fresh and delicious. Worth the price!!!

I've been craving sandos for the past month now, and I finally was lucky enough to swing by early. We got the mixed sando (walk in only) and a fruit sando. Flavors starting from the best: Beef Bulgogi - so flavorful and filling Ebi - such a close second, really would depend on what I'm craving to push it up Mango/strawberry - dessert, best shared for 3 people Katsu - pork, didn't blow my mind, I'd get the chicken one next time When they sell out, they sell out! Get there as soon as you can post opening to get what you want (or be smarter than me and pre-order early.

Saw this on insta and thought it was cool to grab some sandos! Got there around 10 and there was already a line. The shop itself is pretty tiny and offer some seating. They have so many choice and the sushi looks so yummy! But this was really pricey stuff, but it is fresh and looks so pretty! I got the cheese katsu sandwich and it wasn't that good tbh maybe if it was hot, but it was a very hard dried pork sandwich. The egg sando was my favorite it ass a lot of egg and a bit on the sweeter side, I also did their sampler with different ones and the cream one I enjoyed but their katsu is not it... salmon was also ok their sushi tho? $40+ but boy oh boy was it delicious! And they came with miso and homemade soy sauce yum!
