FOOD: We started with the deviled eggs and crab fritters. Both were delicious. Bf got the fried chicken and I got shrimp & grits. The server warned me the shrimp & grits were spicy. Amazing, authentic Cajun-style seasoning, not hot at all but very flavorful. Would have preferred the tails to be off the shrimp, though. Chicken was crispy and juicy. Bf cleaned his plate (and mine). We ended with lemon pie, it was perfectly balanced, not too sweet. DRINKS: Very impressed with the ratios in their cocktails. They obviously measured. Creative, inspired, and with fresh ingredients. Nice beer and wine list too. SERVICE: Good. Got an apology about it being so busy, but I thought she was well-timed. Gave bf drink recs which was nice. No complaints for a busy Friday night. AMBIANCE: Love the decor. Comfy booths with pillows. Clean, warm atmosphere. PARKING: We had an issue with validation. The hostess walked outside with us and tried the machine herself. Very nice of her. She said let her know if it doesn't work when we pull out— we wound up just paying the $4, we weren't bothered by it. Excellent customer service and not her fault it wasn't working. Altogether very grateful a friend recommended this place. Keep doing what you're doing. Bf already wants to go back.

the shrimp and grits is fabulous! the flavor is great and well-balanced. the drinks are tasty, nice ratios. the smoked fish dip has an excellent flavor. The chicken was dry in the pan roasted airline chicken, but had great seasoning and nice breading. Will definitely return!

Disagree with the sub-4 rating. Good food, very good service, good beer and drinks. Went for dinner but will try lunch.

I came in town for the Madonna concert on Monday night and we chose here to have dinner beforehand . The host was outstanding. He was so friendly and outgoing. He did a nice menu tour after he seated us . The restaurant is darling . It's decorated in a cute 1940s cottage style . There are tons of old wedding pictures and vintage cake toppers paired with depression glass . The menu is small but precise. It hits all the vest southern dishes but does them with a modern take . We started with the crab fritters which were excellent. I had a nice grits and butternut squash dish. My friend had the redfish which looked amazing. The cocktail list was really nice and used all the local spirits. I had a fantastic bourbon coffee cocktail in a coupe glass that woke me right up . The bar area looked fun and I'd go back to have a cocktail and an appetizer.

Incredibly delicious southern cuisine. We're visiting from DFW and I'm distraught to say there's nothing close to it. The shrimp and grits makes you want to slap yo' mama, and the Collard greens twice! Demetrius was warm and wonderful. Can't wait to come back

Loved our brunch, however I did call the restaurant (to let them know we were running 7 min late to reservation and was put on hold. Held for 12 minutes and then they hung up on me. Otherwise everything was great!

My favorite low key go to brunch spot in Austin! The restaurant's decor is cute and it's never too loud. The food is fantastic and definitely worth it if you want comfort food. There's a good amount of vegetarian options. The coffee is a wonderful blend and it's great black. There's also multiple choices of juice for mimosas which is fun! The management is very kind and the service is excellent. I highly recommend grabbing a bite to eat here!

TL;DR - Warm, friendly service, great food, great drink selection. Order the crab and corn fritters! We adored this place! Our server -whose name escapes me- was a young black man with a great smile and warm, cheerful attitude. He took such great care of us before we went to see Wicked. We were on a time crunch so we didn't get to stay long, but he still took the time to walk us through the menu and make sure we never had to ask for anything - he was on it! We'll definitely have to go back when we have more time. The host was also incredibly friendly and inviting. So much so that I wondered if he had mistaken us for regulars at first but I think he was just that warm and welcoming. The decor was and lighting in the space is pretty eclectic and creative. It feels a little French and a little country -like Louisiana. The bar is small but packed with a vast selection. Since we didn't have much time, we only order appetizers and split dessert. We had the deviled eggs which were silky and satisfying not too salty or rich. The corn and crab fritters were so yummy - a perfect balance of sweet, savory, and crisp. And the Brussels sprouts were well cooked with crispy edges and didn't turn into a soggy mush like some do. As we recover from forced social distancing in the pandemic and learn how to connect with our communities again, feeling welcomed and connected is more important than ever and that's why I also want to mention that I'd give this place a 10/10 connection score (I made it up!). We left looking forward to coming back and hoping to become regulars. Definitely check this place out for yourself!

We were coming in at 8:15 on a Tuesday so we called ahead to make sure they were ok with a party of 8 since they close at 9, they said yes no worries. We get there, and are then told it needs to be one check and there will be 20% gratuity added… something he easily could have said on the phone but didn’t, and a bad idea for their servers. We would have easily tipped WAY more as 4 different couples. We then were told at 9:13 we couldn’t order another drink because the bartender was done. There were still other tables at the restaurant, and again that affected the tips, not to mention, seriously? You can’t make a drink or pour wine after 9? The food was good but I won’t be returning, we felt extremely unwelcome while trying to help out a local business, even after we were nice enough to call ahead, which we didn’t even need to do.

Everything was way over priced for the portion size. Shrimp and grits was disgusting.

We love all of the brunch items at Colleen's, specifically the breakfast biscuit! Perfect spot for our Easter brunch and they validate parking in the garage attached to the building.

Our 1st visit for Easter brunch. Great food & service. Loved coffee, strong & hot!!! Restaurant aesthetic absolutely up my alley. They also validate parking which is a plus. Will definitely come back, probably for lunch. Menu items looked very good.
