I got kicked out of the strip club across the street, so I went here. This is a fantastic place to have an existential crisis after a bouncer tells you to leave the strip club because you are ruining your life and the experience at the club for the other patrons. I was also kicked out of this coffee shop, but I'm a scumbag and I shouldn't be allowed in anyways.

Highly recommend this place for anyone interested in trying authentic Guatemalan cuisine. It's as if you've left Austin and entered a family owned cafe in Guatemala. I'd recommend trying the various tamales that are unlike what is commonly served at Mexican and Tex-Mex restaurants. The restaurant is large, clean and nicely decorated with traditional oil on canvas paintings that are sold throughout the country by indigenous artisans. The staff is attentive and friendly. Enjoy your trip into a new cultural experience and experience a different type of Latin cuisine.

My fiancée is Guatemalan, so it's been great having a restaurant so close to home where he can get all his favorite comfort foods. We've dined in a few times, and the interior design is incredible - the pops of colors are so lively and bring warmth to all visitors, while the hand-painted art on the backs of their wooden chairs let you know that a lot of thought and care went into planning this place out.Their food is consistently good, offering up many authentic dishes that remind him of his childhood. He stops in every week to pick up freshly baked breads to have with our coffee in the mornings, and often brings home delicious chicken tamales wrapped in banana leaves (raisins added in during the Christmas season). I am especially fond of their mole de plátano dessert, and highly recommend it as well.

Met my mom here for lunch one afternoon after finding this place on Yelp. Neither of us had Guatemalan food before but we were excited to give it a try!The inside ambiance is bright and cheerful with artwork adorning each chair. Service was nice even with a language barrier, and the server gave some wonderful recommendations for first timers. They offer all sorts of aguas frescas, and they also have traditional desserts! The mole covered plantains are to die for.

I love that this restaurant is adding much-needed diversity in cuisine & culture to Allandale. I admit that Spanish is easier for me than others & it's a pretty bilingual joint, at least up front. So far, the tamarindo drink & large tortilla with beets & eggs on it are my faves. Gonna work my way through the rest of the menu when my appetite's greater! Hope this biz fares well cuz Allandale is SO BLAND & vanilla overall. I'll be a frequent patron as I live 1 mile away & go to the same shopping center a lot (Fresh Plus, Style Encore, Glow Nails & Play it Again Sports). Location in their favor, I def wanna vouch for it & update later as I try more menu items. Nice blend of eat-in & to-go plus Cashpay payment option & quick grab & go pastries up front w/the drinks.

The only thing authentic about it is the name because the food is not as popular as my beloved Guatemala, the name is too big for the food they sell. The service is terrible, so they charge to consume one there in the establishment. The only thing missing is that they will charge me for the parking lot. The worst thing is that this is not Guatemalan food, so please don't be fooled by the cute name it has.

I could say: 'This place is worth moving to Austin for.....', but you wouldn't believe me. Very small mom and Pop joint. The garnachas are AMAZING!!Very casual. They aren't open terribly late.

This place is amazing. A friend invited me to try it out. We are always looking to eat and try new places out, Especially in Austin. From the moment we walked in.The waitress was very friendly. She came right away with the menu. Asked if it was our 1st time there and of course we said yes. She suggested a platter with chuchitos and garnachas( excuse if I am spelling this word incorrectly) tostada con pollo and fried sweet plantian . Boy was it Delicious!!? By the way I give this charming place ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Thank you Rinconsito Guatemanco for coming to our community.

Delicious authentic Guatemalan cuisine! A beautiful reminder from when I lived there. They even had some Mayan cocoa I bought to make at home. <3

one of my favorite latino americano restaurants in the whole 512! my mother and i love to come here for celebratory lunches or just because. there is no words to describe how amazing the food is. I can't even name everything I've tried from here but all I know is that it's all been delicious! the prices match the quality and portions. not to mentions the doñas working are so kind. if you're ever wanting to support a local chapín restaurant, this is the place!
