The food was lovely, but the service was somewhat off. Overall the servers were friendly, and we were asked to order everything at once to ensure the kitchen could course out our meal appropriately. But we were often waiting a long time between courses and entrees did not come out at the same time, leaving some people waiting while food got cold. There was also an issue with flies, which was somewhat offputting.

Really cool little place. Table was ready immediately upon arrival. Menu is limited but food was amazing. Service was great as well. Server, Joelle, was attentive and friendly. Great experience!

Food, service, and atmosphere were excellent as always! This restaurant is a treasure with its thoughtful menu and exceptional happy hour offerings. The Gruyère and pepper popovers are one of my favorite bites of food ever!

Incredible food and somehow even better service. Came here as a group of 5 for a birthday and Sheyna took the time to make every step of our experience incredible. Will always be coming back to our favorite little Hyde Park spot!!

If weather permits, sit outside. It's too noisy to conduct conversations indoors. We had a pleasant meal. Being outside does seem to mean that service could be a tad slower, since you can't exactly catch your server's eye.

F&D is one of my top favorite restaurants in Austin. It's absolutely delicious and I genuinely look forward to going here, no matter how much we frequent this place. I give it a gazillion gold stars.

The service was superb. Our server was on point. She was awesome. We had the frittata, steak and eggs with biscuits on the side. The quality of the steak was excellent and it was cooked as ordered. I ordered a decaf coffee (doctor's mandate) and it was accommodated. For the quality of the food served, it was surprising affordable. We plan to come back for dinner and seat at the counter. I am looking forward to tasting the mushroom creme brûlée.

Pleasantly surprised around every turn. Extremely enjoyable evening and had some great wine pairing that took it to another level.

Dining at the counter provides the best seat in the house as you watch the skilled team of chefs prepare your meal. As a good home cook, I am always impressed at how the staff at Foreign and Domestic manage to turn out dish after dish with wonderful consistency and appearance. Love the popovers!

Foreign & Domestic is outstanding. I've personally loved most of the things I've ordered. The service is lovely, friendly, and knowledgeable. Get the gnocchi, popovers, and burger for sure. Our experience with the risotto was that it was salty to the point of being almost inedible. Stay away unless you're deficient. The fish is good, but the rest of the plate (veggies, etc) is meh. All the deserts are to die for. Overall, it's one of my favorite spots in Austin. Just beware of certain dishes, and you'll have a great experience.

What an amazing dinner! We went with a group and were so impressed. The staff was so professional and the service was great, and getting to watch the open kitchen was a bonus! Now for the food: everyone throughly enjoyed their meals! We started with wines from their extensive wine list. Appetizers were the Gruyère popovers (so light and eggy) served with onion butter, and their steak tartare (so well balanced!). I got the pork shoulder with collards that was so savory, with so much brightness added with a beurre blanc and grapefruit slices. If I'm ever back in Austin, I'd want to visit again!

Wow. This place was wonderful. The food is so fresh and full of flavor! Our server was lovely as well. We went during happy hour on a Tuesday. We made sure to be there right when they open for the $1 oysters. We did reserve 6 oysters per person as requested on their website. We were able to order 12 per person because they had enough. SCORE. They were great tasting oysters from Canada. I also ordered the highly recommended gruyere popovers as an appetizer and WOW, exceeded the hype. The soft, fluffy bread with the butter and cheese was just lovely. I also ordered the short rib campanelli which was just as wonderful. The tenderness of the short rib mixed with the flavors of the lemon, goat cheese, and pasta was delightful. Highly recommend this dish. I finished off my amazing meal with their home made chocolate ice cream and Mexican vanilla ice cream. It's so refreshing to eat a dessert that tastes just as good as the meal. The chocolate was rich and sweet so refrain if you don't have a big sweet tooth. The Mexican vanilla was light but delightful. I'd order both flavors again. I had a taste of my friends bay leaf ice cream, it was unique but still lovely. I loved this restaurant. You 100% taste the farm to table ingredients and feel the care in every bite.

One of my favorite neighborhood restaurants which we have to drive to since we are downtown. The waitstaff are always friendly and take time to explain specials and answer questions. We go for the $1 oysters on Tuesdays and get so much than that. Make sure to try the bread!
