Great first time experience. From the greeting at the door to the staff buzzing around the room to make sure everyone was taken care of was a great experience. Most importantly, the food was delicious. The porterhouse flavorful along with all the side dishes . There's no salt or pepper at the table which displayed the confidence in the chef's preparation. I ordered two desserts , which were both delicious as well. I was pleased and well worth the price for a great meal and dining experience. 5 Stars !!

Ambiance leaves something to be desired. The entrance through another bar has a food court feel and the unfinished ceiling cheapens the atmosphere. We had to send our steak back, but once it came out cooked correctly it was delicious. The ramp butter was particularly good. If you're looking fine dining in Austin, there are better options. If you happen to be staying at or near the fairmont and don't mind spending top dollar on a nice steak, this could be the spot for you.

Came here to say with colleagues to celebrate a birthday while on a work trip. Incredible service from all the staff but in particular our waiter. Great recommendations on menu items and wine pairings. Be prepared that they ask you order all food at once and then they close it out for you. The wood fired flavor on the food from their special oven was extra noticeable and added to the ambiance. 10/10 recommend if in downtown Austin.

Pricey but worth it if you're in Austin. Truffles tater tots is a must! The baked oysters, the grilled sourdough, the banana hazelnut soufflé were outstanding! Snapper crudo was ok and not enough snapper, the octopus was ok, I had better in SF. The service was great!

Garrison at the Fairmont Hotel exceeds expectations. The food delivers , the flavor profile of Texas BBQ delivered as a fine dining experience. The wood burning cooking really takes everything up a notch . The setting is hip & the service impeccable.?❤️

French food is not always my favorite unless it is done proper the whole 9 yards, but The Garrison is the whole 9 and the back 9 yards and it was just so incredible. Almost everything we had was a new culinary experience unique in of itself!! Such creations, talent, accutramen and oh the details of such unique infusion but purely of French flare and style. Caviar on an oyster spoon with Belvedere Vodka and edelflower libation in a challace like a fish bowl!! The meat the mushrooms and the everything. This place is so incredible . The chefs are truly of a divine caliber and beyond trained and perfected in their craft. Remarkable!! One of a kind experience. The staff was so on point it was just heaven for my wife and I. Michael Mina in Vegas may be jealous even if some of these creations.

The food was so delicious and the wait staff AND GM were engaging and knowledgeable. For dinner we had the pierogi, a strip sirloin with truffle tater tots and mocha hazel for dessert. They also provided a premeal tasting, it was duck confit on a bread or cheese disk, I'm not sure what it was but I would eat about 10 of them if I did. The ambiance was upscale and peaceful. Will visit it again next time.

We didn’t realize that this place was as fancy as it turned out to be when we descended upon them with our tennis shoes and our 2 year old toddler! The restaurant staff appeared un phased by us, which we very much appreciated! Was nice to have a great dinner, we don’t get that as much as we used to with our little kiddo. The food was fantastic! Everything we ate was delicious and different. Would highly recommend the tator tots side, and I had the lamb entree, which was amazing.

Took my kids there for my daughter's 30th birthday. It was amazing! Food was exceptional, great service and just over all beautiful. It's not a place you need a special occasion to go for. Great date night spot or a night out with friends.

Garrison is probably the most luxurious, but also the most expensive, place to eat in Austin. The $35 tater tot side dish is grossly overpriced as we received 9 of them. Tasty yes, but I prefer the price and equal food quality at Eddie V's where we also ate during our stay.

Might be the best food I've experienced in Austin. Everything was carefully prepared down to the smallest detail. The staff was very knowledgeable about the dishes and helped us combine them with nice drinks. Jasper, who took care of us, was nice and friendly, and afterwards the manager, Chris, came and found out all the details of our day and chatted with us about the foods we tasted. I thank them so much for making our day go so well.

The staff and each of their attention to detail completely made my meal. J.R. Our waiter made my partner and I feel the experience of being shown the process of each note infused into each dish. Truly one of the best meals I’ve had.
