Told the barista I like it sweet and he suggested trying a local honey Ambiance: very relaxing & clean. I suggest picking up a coffee here and begin exploring the city as a local or tourist :)

I can't have caffeine and always struggle to find good decaf that I can order without judgement. Their decaf espresso is fantastic quality and I love the honey + lavender syrup in a latte. Great service that didn't scoff when I ordered decaf and very helpful in suggesting other places to visit in Austin.

Delicious vanilla oat milk latte. The baristas were personable and friendly. The shop was located at a convenient spot on our walk to the Capitol. And there was plenty of seating, both inside and outside in a lobby area. I would definitely recommend Houndstooth Coffee if you're in Austin!

My second time having Houndstooth and dont have a strong impression of this place. The drinks are solid, everything is alright nothing exceptional. Oatmilk matcha was 7/10 and same as Americano. The seating at Houndstooth tend to be a little uncomfy to sit in - for both central austin/and downtown location. Staffs are standard, nothing to write home about.

Yup. Coffee snob, here. The smell of the grounds when you first walk in is a pretty good indication. Espresso was dialed- important. Baristas on point, quirky, hospitable. Milk foam A+. Sweet, artisan industrial concrete floors, comfy wooden furniture, views of the street- all the makings of a solid coffee spot. Highly recommend.

Sometimes when I don’t want to drive from our paltry apartment, we’ll hop on the bus and walk a couple blocks for some coffee. We seem to always get here right before it gets busy, which is lucky for us, because they get busy. Then I’ll pretend I know what it’s like to live richly in the Frost tower, likely saddled with debt and scared to stain my teeth while I use a straw with my sippy lid and forget the planet ever suffers, our future selves filled with 99% microplastics regardless. They really try to push those TacoDeli tacos, but they put mashed potatoes. Why.Anyway, the coffee is just fine. It tastes great on a good day, which we’ve had 4/5 times. Expensive like everywhere else in town that’s not a gas station, but less than *others* I’ve visited. The baristas are always on point and we’ve never have to wait longer than a minute for our drinks.

March 2024Houndstooth Coffee is great and very conveniently located for me where I park at the Frost Bank building when I need to go to downtown. I just order a black drip coffee what ever available and every time tastes very smooth without a bitter taste. On busy days like during SXSW they serve coffee outside along with breakfast tacos from Taco Deli and pastries. This make it quicker to avoid standing in a long line.The staff is very friendly and will talk to you about the coffee beans.
