I work nearby and decided to try Julios for lunch especially after seeing that it had 4 stars. It's a quaint little restaurant that appeared to be family owned. The chicken nachos were delish!! I like the fact that they use the whole chicken and not just the breast.

Happened upon this gem while in Austin for eclipse and music fest. Food and house margaritas are delicious. Service is outstanding: you are greeted, oriented, and made to feel welcome. Chips and salsa were top notch and the chicken tacos were full of flavor and filling, accompanied by tasty beans and rice. 5+ stars and highly recommended.

A must go in Austin. The chicken taco plate was delicious. The guacamole was also a highlight. A true authentic restaurant. Would definitely eat here again if in Austin. The service was also outstanding.Kid-friendliness: Our kids loved the food and there is a child’s plate with plenty of food for a kid.

The portions are very small, there’s dead bugs on the window shelves, there’s no waiter, the person that takes your order brings your food. You order up front pay before you see your meal or even get an idea to how much to tip accordingly. You have to fetch your own condiments and water.

Julio’s was one of my favorite spots back in my college days in the early 2000s. Their rotisserie chicken (on its own or in a taco/enchilada/fajita) was always the best I’d ever encountered. So happy to be back and see this gem still here in 2024, and unchanged at that. The chicken and the fresh made guacamole are just as excellent today as they were back then. Thanks for the memories!

I've moved in Austin for over 25 years and can't believe I haven't been to Julio's until today. Food was excellent and the new owner Claudia was the nicest lady!!!!! My friend was craving a rotisserie chicken and let me say it was delicious!!! We split that and still had plenty of leftovers. My other friend decided on the carne guisada plate and I couldn't stop eating his food. Soooooo good! I didn't have a Mexican martini but my friend said it was perfect and gave him a good tingle on his first sip! Love this place and can't wait to come back and try some more!

Julio's is a wonderful cafe. The service is unmatched- they treat you like family and the food is great. Such a warm and sweet energy

This place is just too pricey for what it offers. The chips changed (thicker, greasier), the food is just okay and it is overpriced to sit outside in chairs with bird poop. Not worth it.Vegetarian options: Poor veggie options

I cannot recommend this place enough. What an Austin gem! We showed up one evening with our big group, not realizing how small this restaurant was - but the ladies there got us some chairs and drinks while we waited for a few tables to free up. My aunt has a severe gluten allergy and they went above and beyond to make sure she had something delicious she could eat safely. The food was incredible, the atmosphere felt very much like old Austin, and the service was impeccable. Warm, friendly, tasty… you cannot go wrong.
