WOW...stay away from this place on the weekends. The staff, including management still haven't figured out how to run the business with heavier guest volume...think they've been open since the 90's. We waited a long time for our food, which the order was incorrect and the margaritas were ok. Crazier, we saw the manager (or owner) yelling & using inappropriate language towards an upset customer...even calling the angry customer a mother f*****. Look, I get it that mad customers who are not being nice to managers sucks...but that's just part of the business. If the manager cannot handle upset customers, might be the wrong business for him.

Great patio and playground. My kids love it and as such so do I. Food is hit or miss. Good Guac, flautas. Bean and cheese nachos are good too. Two things that would make it 5 stars for me: BETTERauthentic TORTILLAS BETTER QUESO For the love of god please get new tortillas

The waiters need training. They don't check up on you too often. The food is ok and the playground is why we go.Kid-friendliness: Restraunt with outdoor playground for kids. This is why we go.

Been wanting to try this place for sometime. So sad to finally make it only to get such poor service. We brought our teen daughter and grand baby/ toddler. The play scape was a pleasant surprise however we were seated right night next to the entrance of the playground so we were swarmed by speeding kids all evening. Our waitress had tables inside and then us outside so we were mostly forgotten all evening. There were lots of people on patio, why would you not have a staff out there?? Food was okay at best and queso was not good, velveeta quality at best. Our bill was $89 for 2 adult plates, 1 kid plate, a small queso and my 2 Rita's.... Wow.... Really? This place was more of an overpriced fast food joint with a playground than a great Tex mex location, save your money and go elsewhere

Food was lovely and the environment is great. Poor service staff though - felt super understaffed and everyone was trying hard to survive. Would go back, but maybe not during peak times.

Food is always good, great atmosphere for kids. The service is always TERRIBLE. Putting gratuity on parties over 6 is totally fine, but not paying attention to your table because of a guaranteed tip is basically stealing. They need to care a bit more....

This isn't our first time coming here to Mesa Rosa, but this is my first revue, as it was one of our favorites when we lived within the area. We now only eat here when in the area, or just drive the 20 plus miles as Mesa Rosa is just that good.Justin: was our waiter whom was extremely professional and was very attentive with our night out. I highly recommend him as your waiter.Complimentary chips & sausa: The chips and salsa was fresh and restaurant made, the salsa was thick not a thin water like substance that other places have, and the blend of tomatoes, tomato sauce, onions, lime, peppers and cilantro were excellent.Strawberry margarita: Was actually the best that I've ever had, it was even better than the Hyatt Regency's in Austin on Town Lake, now Lady Bird Lake.I had the Beef Fajita Taco Plate with Spanish rice and Refried Beans, that came with sour cream, shredded cheddar and pico de gallo. My beef fajita tacos were exactly what you expect when eating fajitas. Sliced thick, juicy and grilled to perfection on a flame pit, served in restaurant made flour tortillas. Let's put it this way my plate was left totally empty. It was all that good!!!My wife had the Shredded Chicken Rosa Enchiladas with suiza sauce, Spanish rice and refried beans. She mentioned that it was the best that she has ever had. Matter of fact, she talks allot while eating, she was too busy to talk while eating her food and would have made "When Harry Met Sally" jealous with all of her ummming and moaning. And especially with her slice of plain New York Cheesecake for dessert. She shared a piece and it was out of this world good. There is also an outside bar, grill and tables, and also a very large child friendly safe playground making this restaurant the perfect family experience with your children.Bam!!! This food is good!

We came here for the playground and food my kids (5&3) would eat with no complaints. This place was perfect with outside seating close enough to supervise our kids while they played but the adults could enjoy their drinks and food. The guacamole and queso were your standard apps that you'd expect at any Tex Mex place. I had the chimichanga with shredded chicken which was okay. I'm glad I got suiza sauce on top otherwise it would have been dry. Service was pretty good. We got refills on chips before we were empty and didn't have to ask for too much.

Pretty good food. Happy with the Carnitas. I spent $161 on 5 lunch plates and 2 margaritas. I feel that's pretty expensive for a mexican food lunch. You be the judge.

Overall I will return for sure, but there is room for some improvement. The atmosphere is fun, the playground and outdoor area to run around is fantastic, and patio is wonderful. The playground does have some little broken pieces in some areas as another reviewer mentioned, but nothing that bothered the kids or interrupted their play. My 1 and 4 year old had a great time, and overall the food wasn't bad. I ordered the Tacos Del Cabo and my husband ordered the Burrito Al Carbon. He wasn't a huge fan of his but I really liked mine... The chips, salsa, and Rosa Dip queso were all pretty good, and the Margaritas and Mexican Martini were fine, nothing to rave about. Service seemed good at first, and I don't know if they got too busy, but it took a while to come by with the check at the end, which is why I brought the rating down in that category. There is a beer garden area, but the past couple of times I have been there (over the past 2+ years) I have never seen it functioning but maybe it's only certain days. It's currently closed with yellow tape around it though so idk. I can't say anything about the inside but it seemed fine when I walked through it.Again, great place to take the family, okay food + drinks with normal pricing (these days anyway). Will be returning.

The mesa rosa restaurant on 620 refused Service after we had already sat because of a service dog at our table, they illegally asked for documentation and told us we had to leave if we would not provide “paperwork” for the animal. The manager refused to give his name when we asked and refused to give any contact information to a corporate office. Do not eat here unless you want to support a business that discriminates against customers with disabilities. I am very disappointed in the way our situation was handled and will absolutely be reporting this restaurant for violating the Federal Americans with Disabilities Act.

This restaurant discriminates against service animals and kicked us out of their establishment with my psychiatric service dog and refused to follow the law. The manager on duty refused to give their name to make a report.
