The dim sum was very good! Not the best dim sum I've had but the variety was large! I'm not too sure if they offer a-la-carte items such as pecking duck or honey walnut shrimp, but if they do I would really like to try them out! My favorite would be the salt and pepper shrimp, pecking duck, and of course the shu mai.

Really enjoy coming to New Fortunate and I love to bring family/friends here cause I enjoy the family style dining. They serve dim sum on the weekends and I absolutely love it! The basil chicken wontons, pork bbq bun, pork and shrimp shumai, shrimp leek cakes, and green beans are my favorite to order. It's best to come with a party of 3 or so, that way you can order plenty of dim sum plates and not get too full. The plates are reasonably priced at 3.95-5.95 a plate. This past weekend was my most recent visit and I was able to get the lobster special for $28!! Two lobsters fried in salt and pepper seasoning atop a bed of garlic fried rice (I think the rice was $7?) MAN OH MAN, THIS PLATE WAS A BANGER!!! You will not be disappointed. Flavoring was on point and I could not get enough of it. Give this spot a try. You will not regret it.

This is the worst dim sum place I have ever been too.... Flavor and freshness are below standard - can't believe that they dare to serve dim sum in a restaurant with this low quality. I regret bringing my family for brunch here.

Came here to test the waters for dim sum. Overall I enjoyed the dine in experience and it was nice to see they kept the carts. Once you sit down, you're swarmed by all of the carts which helps fill your table pretty quickly. New Fortune has definitely outdone themselves on the number & variety of dishes. Which keeps you coming back for more. Also nothing was overly oily or greasy even the fried items. The staff were helpful and willing to get you dishes from the kitchen or bar that they don't have in their carts.

This is my favorite dim sum restaurant in Austin, but you have to go on the weekend to get the full experience. They have every dim sum dish you could want, and I like that they serve dim sum the traditional way of pushing the carts around. They've really adapted to covid and follow all the safety measures. Please support this business as they have a lot of workers to pay!

Great, authentic dim sum. Everything was excellent. We got takeout and everything was still hot & fresh when we got home. They had a huge selection! Friendly staff as well!

If you are in the mood for some good dim sum, this is the place for you. Masks are required.

The staff were friendly and attentive to your needs. The set up is beautiful. It is like a ballroom hall with chandeliers.

Large dining area, tables are spaced out for Covid. Food was fresh and good with portions large enough for two people.

We placed a very large to go order, which was good, except they were running about 15-20 minutes behind our pick up time, and they forgot our dessert.

awesome service great food. When you go here, skip out on the traditional chinese entrees because the rest of their menu is phenomenal.

I ate here in March, before Covid turned the world upside down. I had some very delicious dim sum. As a second generation Chinese American somewhat estranged from her roots, I found the food to be authentic and delicious. My date enjoyed her food as well, with profuse compliments for the savory flavors in the various meat-and-starch dishes we ordered.I loved the food so much that I would normally give 5 stars without hesitation, but the service was chilly enough that I've yet to find the courage to go back. It's quite unfortunate, as I would love to stuff my face there on a regular basis otherwise.

They are open for dine-in and doing dim sum carts! I was honestly a little disappointed coming here. I came around lunch time (12:30) so maybe it's better to go when everything is still fresh when they open in the morning. Also, my past experiences of dim sum are from eating at Chinatown in NYC, so maybe they just don't compare. My pork buns were cold from the cart, and so were my noodles from the counter. I would say it tasted more like Chinese buffet than quality dim sum. However service was great & fast. But I probably won't be returning.

We ordered takeout from New Fortune and were subjected to the same crowds that normally crowd around their front entrance on a busy weekend. People were mostly wearing masks but nobody was standing 6 feet apart and several customers ignored the mask mandate. When we called the restaurant, they said they would enforce the mask mandate. They did not. There is no system for keeping their customers safe. I do not recommend doing takeout here but would consider updating this review if I hear from their management that they are implementing procedures to keep their takeout and dine-in customers safe.
