The pasta alone is enough to give this place 5 stars, but the fact that it's coupled with the ambiance of butterfly bar is just the bees

Giving this place a 4 overall, I would be giving it a 5 but there is one thing the ruins it. The food is amazing, truly everything is absolutely delicious and everything if worth the wait. The garlic bread is to die for. The only problem is the location, the place it shares a space in is next to a very liberal establishment. And if you need to use the restroom do so before you go to eat here. Overall it's extremely uncomfortable to use the restroom here they like to use gender neutral bathrooms. I chose to use the one that had a urinal in it (clearly the mens restroom) but there was 4 women in there. I opted for the other bathroom but I was embarrassed to find out there was woman using the stalls next to me. It's extremely uncomfortable and really sad there there is no private alternative.

The garlic bread here is simply out of this world. It’s definitely the most delicious garlic bread I’ve ever had. The bruschetta is similarly delightful. The pastas here taste fresh, but are somewhat lacking in flavor/spice. Also, they typically arrive slightly room temperature, not particularly hot. However, I would say the garlic bread is worth the frequently 45+ minute wait.

For those trying to keep Austin weird this would be a place I suspect they'd go. Although it could be the sxsw crowd too, I'm not sure. We decided it wasn't for us with kids in tow and left.

I love this place! The atmosphere is fun and the energy is great. On a beautiful Monday night, we waited in line for about 30 minutes to place our order. On two different occasions, we were approached by young women who asked if this was our first visit, told us about the specials and they were very helpful with suggestions. The Patrizi salad was large enough to share. A delicious mix of greens with a zesty garlic and vinegar topping. The beets were also delicious. We ordered two pastas, the pesto and the Pomodoro, and added a meatball The pesto was tasty, but not super flavorful. It definitely had a little spice to it. The Pomodoro was similar to a vodka sauce. Unfortunately, the meatball was chewy and had a strange text. We could not eat it.All in all, I wanted to love this place. It’s fun and the food is good, but don’t expect the dishes to wow you.

Great Italian food but carbonara was a bit bland for me. One of the best garlic bread in the game.

Was super pumped to try this place, have heard constant praise about how amazing their in house pasta. So after a show at Vortex my fiancée and I decided to give it a go.Unfortunately it just didn’t amount to anything particularly special. The menu here is basically Tagliatelle pasta with different sauces on top. Love the idea but the execution wasn’t great…We ordered the Patrizi red sauce and the Karan’s diavolo as our mains. It took 30-40 mins for food to arrive, this was a fact that it was a Friday and the bar area was super busy. However there were some issues on the meal side…The pasta itself was under cooked and rather tough, that itself sort of put the mood off and made it less amazing. Aside from that their signature red sauce was really no more than tomato sauce, so the patrizi red sauce dish was super bland. The karahs dish was hit with so much red chilis that it numbed the rest of the flavors, if you just want heat a solid choice but if you want a complex dish with chili rosemary and lemon then it won’t love up to the wish.Given we waited so long for our food we just ate what we could and left it at that. But won’t return for the pasta anytime soon.Unfortunately with the reality of their food, quality of the pasta, and time it takes to get fed I can’t recommend this to anyone.Parking: Parking at the location is very very tricky. It shares a lot with several businesses and some parking is more off the beaten path that I wouldn’t recommend it for a low riding vehicle. We parked a few blocks down on the street and just walked over, this seems to be the common practice for most patrons.

Spent almost 50 dollars for 2 of us. Got carbonara with garlic bread and salad. Not impressed. Too much garlic on bread which was cold. Carbonara was cold and the noodles weren’t cooked enough. I’m all for al dente but this really chewy. Did not taste like any carbonara I’ve ever had anywhere. And not in a good way.

The place has an energetic vibe and relaxing atmosphere the same time. There is live music on stage (the Vortex) and tables in front of it, as well as private tables too. The food was great all in all, except the garlic bread was too buttery/oily for my taste. However, the taste of roasted garlic was good and the bread was nicely baked. Also the Great Leopold (pesto fettuccine) was amazing. There will be waiting even on a weekday to put in order so be prepared.

Delicious dinner place. Great atmosphere and location. It was a great experience and I would definitely recommend this place. I had the carbonara pasta, it was exactly what I was hoping for, with the egg yolk on top!

Came from Houston and this sums up Austin. The staff was extremely friendly. The location is spacious and has an interesting atmosphere. We started with a Garlic Bread which was very fresh it’s not your standard garlic bread and has a strong real garlic flavor. If you aren’t a garlic head I wouldn’t recommend it. The cheese was a good touch but I wish it was hotter when we got it. We ordered a Pomodoro and a Carbonara Alexandra with added mushrooms and hot peppers on the Pomodoro. The peppers were very flavorful and the mushrooms are definitely worth talking about. They had a lot of flavor and also had a nice earthy taste. The food is very fresh and clearly tastes of quality. You get the bite of the fresh noodles. The Pomodoro has a very good mix of tomato and basil flavors. The cheese also helps give the sauce a nice flavor boost. The Carbonara was good as well but was less flavorful than the Pomodoro. It had a more of a pork flavor. Overall I would recommend to anyone who visits.
