This place by far has blown me away with the quality of the food as well as portion sizes which is perfect. Not too much food or too little, this place really knows how to make good tasting entrees. So good ordered twice in a row, if this place keeps up the good work they have found themselves a loyal customer :)) Wont tell you the dishes I order because I don't want an influx of the same order for everyone else to have so I'm gatekeeping in a sense :)

The best place to bring people from out of town to experience true Texas vibes. All their drinks are so good and the environment is so fun. There's always live music, sports games, comedy shows, axe throwing as well as a bunch of super good food trucks. Need more places like this in Austin.

Great place for groups, dogs, and fun in south Austin! They have live music most weekends and even a standing crawfish boil every weekend. Tons of outdoor and patio seating, and even a cute dog run/dog park area. There are also a few food trucks parked onsite. This is a great place to check out if you're in the area!

Loved that it's outdoors, fire pits, live music and great ambience. The security at the entrance was very welcoming and friendly. The bartender that helped us and the staff at the first food stand were not as welcoming. Should have gone to the place next door instead. Gave armadillo a try. If you're looking for a hipster spot, this is the place to go.

Atmosphere was great, enjoyed the music. Look forward to going back again hopefully sometime soon. Cheers

My wife and I decided to check out the Armadillo Den on a Friday after work. When we arrived at about 5:10 we noticed the sign that said "no kids after 6:00". We had two kids with us. When we asked the doorman if we were really going to be kicked out at 6:00, their answer was "maybe" and "it depends". If we had been given a direct answer, i.e., "We are going to kick you out exactly at 6:00", we would not have proceeded. Honestly, I had a hard time imagining anyone being that uptight. We entered and it was chill, the ambience was nice, it wasn't crowded, nice big dog area, there was lots of space and a few other families naturally mingled in disrupting nothing. It seemed nice. I've been looking for an outside place to get a good pizza after work and sit outside and drink beer. Unfortunately, we will won't be back. First issue: We ordered a pizza as soon as we got in. At 5:45, while we were still waiting for our pizza and drinking drinks we had purchased from the bar, we were told that we had to be gone in 15 minutes. Pizza arrived about 5 minutes later. We had 10 minutes to eat our kind of expensive pizza (not complaining, but it added to the crappiness of being kicked out). Exactly at 6, all the families were rounded up and marched out. We sat and tried to hurry up and finish our pizza and were told, you need to. Get. Out. now. It would have been nice if they stop letting people with kids in at 6, but let those already there finish up their drinks and food. We were going to go, but just wanted to eat the pizza we'd been waiting for first. Second, while there, our dog was attacked by an off leash pit-bull that belonged to another patron (our dog was leashed). The other dog had to be fought off. The attack was witnessed by several other patrons, that later on dropped by to check on our dog, tell us that they had witnessed it, and said that they would back us up if it came to that. I informed the employee tending tables what had happened. A while later I saw him and someone else (wearing a green polo, manager?) talking with the owner of the pit-bull. And then... nothing. As far as I can tell no further action was taken. No manager came to talk to us. They did not ask the pit-bull to be removed from the premises (even though along with their no kids sign, they also have a no aggressive dog sign). They did not follow-up with me, or (as far as I know) the people that I indicated had also witnessed the attack. When the employee passed me a little later, he said "it's been resolved". As we were leaving, noticing the aggressive dog was still there, I showed them the missing hair on my dog's head. The response was "it's difficult" because "they didn't see it". I again pointed out the other patrons that witnessed the attack. He shrugged it off. In case you skimmed, they knowingly allowed an aggressive dog to stay on the premises after it had already attacked another dog. If you have kids, or dogs that you care about, I would suggest spending your money elsewhere.

I’ve eaten here almost a dozen times, everything was amazing until this year. I ordered a chalsa burger and it came without the chalsa and overcooked. I tried again with a friend, the chimichurri steak tips used to melt in my mouth but this time they were tough and overcooked. My friend spit out grissly pieces of her steak. Super disappointing that it went downhill.

My fav food truck! Their beef is surprisingly tender and tasty. We always get the plate and gluten-free burger to share. Their steak bites are great if you want a treat for later ?Knocking off a star for service because I thought my beeper buzzed so I went to ask about it, and they treated me like I was crazy. Didn’t have to act like a jerk…FWIW, the service at the other truck at Hi Sign is above and beyond this one.

I've been a regular at Armadillo Den for over a year now, and hands down, it's become one of my go-to spots in South Austin. The house drinks are great, and if you're not in the mood for a cocktail, the variety at the food trucks parked on-site guarantees you'll find something delicious. The bites are seriously great! But what sets Armadillo Den apart for me is the live music scene. Every time I've been, they've lined up fantastic bands with diverse musical styles. I haven't seen the same musicians twice, which keeps things exciting. The outdoor space is just perfect for summer nights and it's become one of my favorite places to unwind with friends or visiting family. Now, onto the only hiccup - the parking situation. It's a bit tricky, but honestly, there's not much they can do about it. Just a heads up, avoid parking across the street - it's not worth the hassle of dealing with the predatory tow companies that patrol there.

Awesome place to hang out . Dog friendly, massive out door seating area. Friendly service pouring some awesome beers and making killer margaritas. Numerous quality food truck in the outdoor area. Solid vibes all around.

One of the best food trucks I've ever had! My husband and I have gotten delivery and in person and were extremely impressed with the quality of the food. I got the Heartbrand bowl with chicken and would absolutely get it again. Currently the truck is at Armadillo Den on Manchaca but they also deliver through Uber eats. However you try it - just do it! You will not be disappointed.

Great night with better company @ Armadillo Den. The drinks helped with the September Austin heat and the service from the bartenders was top notch.
