Food is good. Just an awkward menu if you want to make a plate with several options. I wish they had a veggie plate where you got chicken and choice of several sides with one corn bread. Like 12 bucks with two sides. 15 for 3 and so on. Or some other way to order what you want. When I order food for myself it gets ridiculous expensive quick if I want something other than one thing or a bowl. Also, when I got my order to go. They put all the wet topping ins the fried okra and it was soggy when it arrived. Tasted great but wish they had put toppings on the side. Customer service could be better. Porch chop sandwich should come at least one side in my opinion. Anyhow. I hope they stick around and come up with a better menu as far as pricing and combinations. Portions could be bigger for what you pay also

The waffle was amazing ! Loved the syrup that was on it . The chicon is my favorite I like the crunch on it . So far my favorite is the Hunty mustard flavor. The Mexican street corn is a must try !!!

Such a sweet human operating the truck. Right next to different Vegan food trucks including the Corn Dog Guy, Arlo's. And a Greek truck. Bringing groups here is PERFECT!

Incredible flavor! I walked over to the food trucks parked behind The Ballroom on a Saturday night at the end of SXSW. To my surprise there were several vegan food trucks! I grabbed a bite from multiple trucks but my favorite was Sassy's. I got the hot lemon pepper chicon, it came with 3 or 4 large "boneless" pieces. I saved the last one for later the next night and it was just as delicious then. I highly recommend you stop by! Staff was also friendly and helpful.

First off I’m not a vegan or vegetarian. This food is nothing short of amazing. The chicon and dumplings were super tasty and so was the fried cabbage and fried okra were crispy not oily and seasoned really well.

The food came out piping hot and fresh! The Mac and cheese was savory and yummy. The owner was kind and took great care of our bigger group. Much love.

The Cajun Mac and cheese was probably the best vegan Mac and cheese I’ve ever had. It didn’t have the nutty flavor like a lot of other places do. The portion size was pretty good. The service was friendly and pretty quick. I can’t wait to go back and try some of the other options!

Easily the worst seitan I've ever had. Sad sad excuse for a vegan chicken substitute. It's literally just surface fried bread dough slathered with maple syrup. Maybe I ordered the wrong item but unless you enjoy eating raw bread dough, stay away from the chicken basket. This is the food that non-vegans make fun of smh

Everything I've ever had has been delicious! Don't be deterred by the line, their food is delicious

Delicious vegan/vegetarian BBQ. I could tell the two women were hardworking women who love making tasty food out of their food truck. I wish they had AC! Fun location with love music, dancing, other food trucks, art and plenty of seating.

Found this little gem on a Friday evening when everyone it seems orders delivery. However, it was a great call. Ordered the soul bowl, hot water cornbread, chicon & waffles, Caribbean street corn & the three green medley. Unfortunately the three green medley didn't arrive but everything else arrived fresh & delicious. This was my first time so I decided on a smorgasbord of eats. The soul bowl was woooo Chile! Simply tasty. Lots of flavors & veggies & vegan bacon together worked for me. The green medley was in this bowl so I feel I had a healthy dose of them to know how they taste. The waffle was eggless & tasted like a donut to me. Still not sure what the chicon was made of but it was seasoned & fried perfectly. I will definitely be reviewing their menu for other options to eat next time as there will be a next time. HIGHLY recommend Sassy's!

Oh. My. Word. If you haven't tried Sassy's yet, get yourself some! My partner and I were in Austin visiting family and decided to get dinner delivered. We landed on Sassy's because we don't have the opportunity to get this style of food often and because the reviews were so good. I ordered the Soul Bowl. It's a bed of sweet potato fries topped with black-eye peas, vegan bacon (yes!), greens with just the right amount of vinegar yes, yes!), and "Vi's Picalilly relish" (spicy, yes, yes, yes!). I absolutely loved this dish, and my partner did too. My partner ordered the okra bowl. A bed of well-seasoned crispy-on-the-outside, soft-in-the-middle okra is the foundation. Black-eye peas, fresh corn kernels, and rotel top it off. My partner really enjoyed it, and I thought it had well-balanced seasoning and a good blend of textures too. It's a bit less spicy than the Soul Bowl. Our family member ordered the Cajun Mac and Cheese. Flavorful, but without strong heat, this is satisfying comfort food. Finally, we ordered a side of okra. As in the okra bowl, the outside was crunchy and the inside soft. The popcorn salt was a little more salt than we're used to eating, but it still was quite tasty. The servings are large and could be shared by those with a lighter appetite. We'll definitely get delivery / eat here again when we're back in town!

I got the lemon pepper and j*** vegan chicken baskets and I can't lie it wasn't edible. The seasonings didn't taste like lemon pepper or j*** they were both incredibly sweet and tasted like the sauce was just maple syrup. The texture was very doughy like frying flour and water and sadly had to count our losses and throw it away. I've had great seitan and protein substitutes but something here was off. Perhaps we just got the wrong thing on the menu, though the customer service was good.

Freaking. Yum. Cajun mac and cheese was killer! And the syrup on that waffle was amazing!! Asian sauce and Caribbean j*** sauce on the “chicken” were both great!! The woman taking orders was kind and answered all of our questions. Will definitely be back. I don’t think you can go wrong here!!

Food was ready on time, service was nice, and the truck smells AMAZING but I was a bit disappointed by the food itself.Chicon was hard to chew, the seitan might be over mixed or something. The elote left a lot to be desired.
