More like TexiCANT. Ensure you read the menu. But also, not all is what you expect. Morados are not actually purple (maybe because "cost of other ingredient" & nachos are not a full plate, just 5 chips "as stated on the menu." So basically if you're willing to spend $3 a chip, by all means, enjoy Texican. Otherwise, trolly on down to Casa Garcia's and enjoy an actual serving of nachos and good/stronger margaritas.

If you have a craving for Tex Mex, this is the spot. Big parking lot, old Spanish style decor and places to sit in a booth or tables and chairs. We were greeted by a man and seated us as requested at a table in the bar. I've been here before and sat in the restaurant to the right but my friend wanted to sit in the bar. It was happy hour and I got the Mexican martini which was the featured for the day. My friend got a Dos Equis. The service was quick and our waitress was timid but efficient. They have a full bar too and some come in just for a drink at the bar. It was busy for a Wednesday at 4:30. I can say I've had better tortilla soup but it was still good, just seemed to missing something or it could've been more spicy. My friend loved her stuffed avocado dish. It's right off Menchaca and 1626, so easy to get to, just not visible if you're driving by since it's farther in the lot. Most people who've lived in the area have been coming here for years. It's in the same lot as where the old Pedernales office was. Just look for that gas station and you're there.

5 of us sitting here with empty appetizer plates and dinner plates empty glasses. Our waiter has come by one time since he took the order. They have dropped the chili con carne sauce for a spicy red sauce. Too spicy for the kids. They are losing their grip on being an excellent restaurant. Won't be back for a long time.

2024 - must amend my review from 5 years ago. This time Nachos were cold and sent back. Gollo Pollo was not hot and greasy. Our waiter disappeared and when we did see him he was rushed.2019 -So surprised at how tasty and size of my stuffed avocado appetizer. I order as entree, which was a whole avocado cut in half stuffed with chicken and smothered in sauce.

Salsa and chips were good. Rice was really good. Refried beans were very good too. The carne guisada was great. Now the enchiladas were not so good. Enchiladas fell apart as soon as they hit out plates. We were there for a family gathering so we were catered to. Lemonade was great! And the strawberry ? mango margarita was awesome!¡!

Worst margaritas in town. Ordered Skinny with: (Specifically) NO soda, shot of Cointreau & bit of Aquave Nectar. Got a drink with orange juice & NO Cointreau. Get it together people!!!!!

We enjoyed everything about the Texican Cafe EXCEPT the margarita flite. I'm pretty sure the different "flavors" of margarita we tried were just a pre-mix slush with some syrup added. On the other hand, the enchiladas were delicious and the steaks were really well cooked. They were busy but didn't mind us lingering.Dietary restrictions: They offer gluten free options.

Tonight I arrived with my family 30 minutes before closing and the servers were telling me that there no tables for us. They told us it was 30 min. before closing and they could not serve us. That was so disrespectful, I will never come back to this place.

From the first sip of their signature margaritas, it's clear that Texican knows its way around a cocktail shaker. The drinks alone are worth a visit, boasting a tangy zest and just the right amount of kick. But let's talk about the full experience. Yes, the wait can test your patience, but consider it the prelude to a worthwhile dining event. Once seated, the attentive service ensures your margarita glass stays filled and your spirits high. The ambiance strikes a balance between vibrant and inviting, making it an ideal spot for both casual diners and those looking for a festive night out. The menu? A delightful array of Tex-Mex classics with a twist, each dish served with a generous side of hospitality. Despite the bustling crowd, each plate arrives boasting bold flavors that echo the warmth of Texas.
