Bastrop's iconic eatery served up the worst Reuben in memory, a stingy, flavorless chicken salad sandwich and all over priced. The french fries were very good; the highlight of the meal. Maxine's lives on it's reputation which is sinking fast.

Went for late breakfast/ early lunch. Service was great; coffee refills were offered. The griddlecake with pecan praline was excellent and hung over the sides of the plate, so there was plenty left over to take home.

One of the BEST food spots in town!! We’ve loved Maxine’s for years. The food is unmatched- we are never disappointed with the quality and taste. However, the service has gone downhill over the past month or two. Our favorite waitress, Macy, no longer works here and we have seen the difference. We came in once and got no acknowledgment at all, so we left. The second time was a bit better, but the lady who gets the drink orders is very short and rude. I really hope the service improves because this is one of our favorite restaurants!!!

I put my name down and I was told it would be a 30-40 minute wait. I asked how many were ahead of us after 45 minutes and they said 4. Then I went to check after an hour and they had skipped us and sat 4 other parties with the same number of people ahead of us. We left.

Food was awful. Eggs Benedict was way over cooked. It was like two hard boiled eggs. Not only was it overcooked, it was cold. Couldn't eat any of it. Ordered the waffle, it was served cold also. Service was almost nonexistent. Won't be back.
