cute spot. they have a separate area for hookah and music. my only major complaint is that we were charged $3 d@mn dollars for a GLASS of water. the oxtail birria tacos were good enough to almost forget about paying money for faucet water.

Hello. This was my first time visiting Essence. I ordered Ox-Tails a Cajun Pasta. I was severely disappointed. The Cajun Pasta had only 3 pieces of sausage and was not very tasty. The Ox-Tails were nothing but Fat. My son did not even eat the Ox-Tails. He loves macaroni and didn't eat that either .He did say the cornbread was good.This was a waste of my money. the ox-tails costs $27.00. I am severely disappointed with this restaurant. I expect much more for the money I paid

Staff was very nice and the atmosphere was quiet. Decor is nice and I like the setup. The food was extremely salty, my dish and my mother's. We didnt enjoy our food at all, we could barely eat it.

I wouldn’t recommend this establishment for anyone. For my one alcoholic beverage, fish and shrimp, and a Red Bull my total came out to about $60. You have to order on your phone and there is an automatic 18% gratuity added to every order regardless of how many are in the party and etc.. Also their system seems to be lagging, as after we had ordered and already paid for our various meals, there was then an issue with the food items that we wanted not being available to us. There was only only one waiter who also assisted in cooking and making the drinks, as well as one other cook. The establishment was empty aside from our 8 person party and it still took us forever to receive our items. The waiter forgot a number of things and seemed to be irritated when we asked for a refund for an item that couldn’t be replaced. It was an experience for sure that I never need to have again…

The only thing this place has going for them is that it's nice. My partner and I were the only two in the restaurant besides the cook, the hostess and a DJ at 6 o'clock p.m. on a Tuesday. The DJ was playing music entirely too loud for only two people! Understandable if the place was at least half full. You have to order your food with your phone, which isn't to bad. The thing I disliked the most about that is that you can't even get your drink until you order your food! This is the dumbest excuse for a restaurant I have ever been in. Would not recommend to anyone, ever! Matter of fact, I'm going to make sure that anyone I know going to or through Beaumont Tx to avoid at all cost! The owner should SALE, SALE, SALE!! Cut your losses dude!

I dined with my wife and our daughter. When we walked in, we were greeted. In fact, an employee held the door open for us.The dining area is huge. It would be a nice place to bring groups and have a good time. There are TVs throughout to watch games, fights, etc. I don't drink, but the bar area is very nice and large. The entire restaurant, including the bathrooms, is clean and spacious.The menu and payment options are electronic. We used our phones to access the menu, place the order, and pay. I was happy they accepted ApplePay. They do not accept cash payments.We ordered chicken and waffles with fries; chicken wings with fries; and lamb chops with onion rings and greens. The greens had bacon in them. The lemonade was a little sweet but doable.All of our food came was served hot and fresh and flavorful. We were pleased with our meals. If there was one area for potential improvement, it's the lamb chops. While they were packed with flavor, they were cooked well done. They were not dry, and I would gladly order them again because they were good! ? However, I'd tell them to cook them medium or medium well.We look forward to going back. The next time I'm going to try the oxtail berrian tacos.Parking: There's plenty of parking.

I normally would not post on here but I have to tell my experience today with Essence Restaurant & Lounge! patronize at your own risk at this restaurant ! We had the worst experience of my life! The waiter Chris which was not even out waiter literally tried to fight my husband! Anybody that know us and no my husband know that he is the kindest person u ever want to meet! The waiter literally disrespected me and our group of friends out of know where! Talked to me absolutely crazy! Please share and bring attention to this post! Do not patronize this establishment! He literally followed us outside saying he will shoot us smh! I tried to leave a review for the restaurant which I told the owner Wilson Harrison that I would! Instead of rectifying the situation the restaurant blocked me from commenting on there page! I have never in my life experienced anything like this!
As a old employee working here was one of the biggest mistakes I could have done I was expected to work multiple positions while other didn't show up to or did they complete their job Duties the owner(s) have poor communication skills and poor people skills to match.. they try to pay in in cash with out any check stub then taxes the cash money as if you are being paid under the table .Will and Ashanti practice poor and shady Business methods . I am still waiting for my first paycheck to be compensated .. I was let go and told I was terminated because I called them out on their vindictive and self absorbed ways handling business . If you not to a person who doesn't want to fight for money already earned this job Most definitely not going to be for you ...I wouldn't recommend it not to mention the poor practices of sanitation and mishandling of food and products through this establishment .

The outside appearance & location is great! Plenty of parking w/clean safe entrance. Inside atmosphere is really nice. The waitress was prompt & efficient, but no receipt was given. The price was exactly as advertised on 102.5. The wings tasted really good and the portions were exact with the right count of 20 pieces for 10 wings. The cooking process was a little long but worth the wait. I will be going back. Thank you

The atmosphere is what sold me. The first thing when I walked in was being greeted with a smile. The vibe is amazing and you get that peace feeling when you walk in. Then to make it even better the food was amazing. I most definitely will be back.
