El Jefe Cafe proves to be a delicious, delicious Mexican Cafe at an unbelievable bargain!! Good service, good views of historical downtown, the plates are very well served, the restaurateur himself takes much pride that everything is made fresh by hand in the kitchen, all at such a low price you'd think you were dining in Mexico!This may very well be my new favorite local Cafe. Parking may be a bit of a hassle but with the daily specials as low as $3 a plate, it's very well worth looking for that parking space!

Hole in the wall, generous portions, good caldo, very local flavor. We went there for lunch during the week. My daughter got a taco (it was huge), I got fish soup. Food was delicious, and the atmosphere was very local. A very nice lady took our order, felt like I was asking my Tia to make my favorite sopita. Enjoyed it thoroughly.
