First thought when I saw the plate " WOW, Fancy." In that instant I regretted sharing my plate with my son. The chilaquiles montados and desebrada taste fresh and delicious. Our new favorite breakfast spot when in Brownsville. Staff was attentive, courteous, and helpful.

A small, well decorated café with a rich breakfast menu. A larger than life photograph of Frida gazes serenely down on the patrons as they dine. I had a pancake stuffed with a breakfast sandwich of eggs, bacon, cheese and avocado. Loved every bite. My husband had juevos con nopales (eggs with bits of prickly pear cactus scrambled together). Nopales add a mildly acidic crunch to the dish. Service was great. The space was very clean.

Wow. Our entrees were so beautifully plated—especially for a quick lunch—it was almost a shame to dive in and disturb the pretty squiggles of crema and sprinkles of spices, lettuce and cheese. Good thing we did, though—the flavors from appetizers and on were satisfyingly and consistently bright, yet hearty. Even the corn tortillas, piping hot, could be appreciated and savored on their own. Brownsville, lucky you, to have this pretty little cafe in your backyard!
