Every time we go it’s always amazing. However, the hostess needed a bit of common sense. There’s was a table with 15+ people and she wants to sit us in a tiny table next to them. Half of the restaurant is empty and yet wants us to be next to loud groupOf people. When I told her I don’t want to sit next there and she proceeds to get annoyed and rolled her eyes.

Its a 2.5 star rating for absurd price fluctuations, watery Chicken Alfredo with the pasta and shrimp (when they served it), difficult parking and the laugh I get when they ask if i put a reservation (for an empty restaurant when they just open at 5). Prices have gone up dramatically. The salmon dish used to be $15, then up to $21, then $27. It seems the dish (the way they're prepared) change a bit depending on whoever is cooking it. The portions used to be good, but that changed as well to the smaller side. The food is amazing still but if gentrification was a restaurant, this would be it. I think I pay less at La Pampa for 2 people. It's worth a try but not a return. The owners let the hype get to their head. Very sad.

Great spot. Food was delicious. Had the ribeye with bone marrow and mole and can honestly say it was one of the better steaks I have ever had. Cooked perfectly and seasoned very well. Atmosphere is great as well. Service was what it needed to be.

My family and I went based on a few ticktock videos. We’re from San Antonio, Tx. urban Mexican restaurants , we’re familiar with. We understand the concept but a lot of menu should be revised and should cater to those with children…add the basic cheeseburger or even a mac and cheese dish , even tho it’s basic at least they’ll have something to select from .. our 3 teens weren’t too happy with the lamb burger or the skirt tacos but The wait was not bad. The music was outrageously loud and it was so hard to have a conversation with anyone at the table , felt more like a night club …the food came out in a timely manner. I had a molcajete shrimp thing … it’s honestly just bland salsa pour into a Mexican molcajete with diced shrimp and blocks of cheese and a side of chips… not impressed at all. My husband had the salmon which tasted like it was under the heat lamp for a while ..: and flavorless along with the rice. Overall it was not a good experience. The building is beautiful the food just was not it. The salsa and chips taste better at your hole in the wall taquerias. Do yourself a favor and get creative , make sure you include all sorts of guest ages in your menu. Service was ok. Would i recommend this place … noKid-friendliness: Need to have a small portion menus for those with children. And have a simple item like ketchup available.

Foodies galore...rejoice in this fantastic and rustic environment and amazing dining experience. Nestled in downtown Brownsville, Texas where you can see, feel and experience the resurgence of this area, Terras Urban Mexican Kitchen delivered on all points food, service and atmosphere. From the eclectic bar setting to the down home rustic seating, I came across Terras Urban Mexican Kitchen while in town on business. From my bartender Alexa serving me up an awesome Johnny Walker Black-rocks as my pre dinner drink to Aylin delivering dining heavy hitters such as the curry potatoes and costillas de elote(yep, as described, corn ribs)----basically a delicious corn on the cob sliced up to literally look like ribs flavored with amazing Chipotle aolie and lime, and for the main event... the amazing 12oz Prime Ribeye( I had mine cooked medium rare) accompanied by an amazingly roasted beef bone marrow all sitting on a sweet mole sauce...simply devine and decadent. Additionally, I sampled the ribeye chacharrones and this dish hit on all points! Despite this meal...I had room for dessert and my choice was the pan de elote. Yes, corn bread with a wonderful cinnamon touch and wonderfully smooth vanilla ice cream. This place gave me a warm, cozy family atmosphere(I hear their brunch is one of their specialties on Sundays) vibe with incredible attentive servers, bar staff and front of house crew. They do have seating for parties and such(give them a call to reserve a bigger table), and there is plenty of room not just in the dining rooms but also at the bar. Come down to Brownsville and give Terras Urban Mexican Kitchen a nod. Check out their Facebook page!

MANY COCKROACHES and when people complained because they were on top of the table they made us say that we fumigated every week and it is not true in 6 months they only fumigated once they only sprayed raid at night, the chef is super rude once it was a lady and I wanted to say hello to him because she gave him the recipe for the peanut sauce and when I told him he made me tell him that he couldn't go out when he just didn't want to, a lot of favoritism among the employees and when I complained FOR THE THIRD TIME but to JUAN the owner, because CARLOS The manager did not resolve the two times I told him before, and when I told him they called me stupid and ignorant and many other things. VERY RUDE, the three of them treated me against me and fired me without even sending me a message or calling me or anything. The next day they only kicked me out of their employee WhatsApp group, CARLOS the manager is always taking shots during the day until he gets drunk and even more so when neither Juan nor the chef is in the restaurant, in fact that night they fired me I was drunk, They can never keep their employees, they always leave for the same reason because with the favoritism they have, only some employees do well and they are the ones who have stayed. We waiters always have to keep track of our tips because on many occasions they do not pay us for all our tips, always arguing that “they were wrong.” When it is not called an error it is called STEALING.
