Excellent Mexican food in Santa Barbara! It's pretty unassuming, for sure a hole in the wall, and the parking's not easy either. But, the food is absolutely worth it! I was here twice in the same week! We tried the carnitas, al pastor, and chorizo con papas tacos. All delicious! Fresh, homemade tortillas make all the difference to start. The tacos come with no garnish. Make sure to visit the excellent salsa bar for cilantro, onion, salsa, and lime. I wanted to try the pozole, given the rain and cold, but I came for dinner, and they had already run out. I settled on the cecina, a salted beef with onions and chiles. It came with rice, beans, and more of those excellent tortillas. It was a bit salty, but it's literally a salted meat. I'm still dreaming about tortillas...make sure you get here to try them yourselves!

We had a great visit! Another taco shop in the area was closed, so we walked to Tacos Pipeye as an alternative and were not disappointed! The owner was helpful in offering recommendations to try, and we got a full variety of different tacos to sample. I would definitely get more of the al pastor on another visit. The salsa bar was the highlight, and the salsa with nopales was good enough to just eat by itself.

Literally best on Milpas I highly recommend the chorizo breakfast burrito. Great service.

This is an amazing place to go if you're traveling with kids and need a quick lunch. We had two cranky kids and they were very accommodating! We got tacos, a torta, and a hot dog. I'm not a big fan of corn tortillas and theirs were delicious. The torta was especially good!

One of the best taco joints in SB. Stuff for gringos and stuff for locals. Tomatillo salsa is always on point, and a good group of people from the neighborhood are always around.

Maybe best tacos I've ever had and I eat a lot of tacos - home made tortillas!!!! 10/10

Honest Mexican food in Santa Barbara. Good variety of meats, on par with what you'd find anywhere, and always nice to get cabeza and lengua - and was surprised to find lamb tacos on the menu. Meat quality was unspectacular, but they had a wide variety of excellent sauces you could add to it. The tortillas are the real star here - so good that I'd get them to go.

Someone told me to try Tacos Pipeye out because they really liked them and I thought they were great. Four tacos for $10 was a great deal and they had a large variety of meats to choose from. I got a pastor, chorizo con papas, carnitas and asada. I liked them all!

Not the fanciest location but what they lack in decor they more than make up for in flavor. Salsas have a great depth of flavor and good amount of heat without being too hot. The mushroom tacos are very flavorful and the carnitas were excellent. Fast efficient service.

Oh. My. God!!! Run don't walk to this place if you're wanting some of the best street tacos around! It's a tiny funky place that packs every single taco to the hilt, loaded with meat (or cheese and peppers!) My husband and I just finished our first meal there and were thoroughly impressed! The homemade (Yes! HOMEMADE!!) corn tortillas were so tender and full flavored. My favorites were the carnitas, rajas con queso (okay, I could eat 10 of those alone) and the barbacoa! So tasty! I believe it was the owner who took our orders and he was a super friendly guy. And my lord, the salsa bar had everything that you could possibly want. Definitely try the creamy cilantro sauce as it took the pollo taco which was good, up to a great level! This place should be packed!! Maybe we just lucked out on the timing. We'll definitely be returning sooner than later and already know what we'll order on the next round. Oh, and did I mention 4 FOR $10!!!

Stopped by SB just for these tacos! Friendly staff, fair prices, and tasty tacos. Will definitely be trying the pazole the next time we're in town!

I've lived in Santa Barbara for me entire life, and only just now stopped here to check it out. I just had my mind blown by these tacos. Great seating (although somewhat space limited), and really friendly staff. This is my new go to spot for tacos. Parking can be tough, but there is a large lot across the street.
