Got a recommendation from one of the owners at Guadalupe Brewing to try this place. We have made it our official italian restaurant. Other places are closer but we drive an hour to get here. Have made numerous visits and not a disappointment yet. There is a wait if you go at peak times, but I adjust my times to avoid the crowds. We dine in but usually get something to go for later. My per person price is a little high but I like the food, drinks and desserts.

My wife and I visited the place on April 7 to celebrate my birthday. We live in the Canyon Lake area and we needed to visit this much talked about site by locals. It was Sunday a day before the total eclipse and some situations could be justified, others could not. We arrived 15 minutes early and we made it known to the person in charge of reservations. Almost 50 minutes later we realized that there was no future in being seated soon and we wanted to know if we were still on the list. It took him a while to find us and he told us that the table was already there but that it needed cleaning. I think if my wife isn't going to ask, we would still be there. The charismatic place, very stylish, with Italian establishments reminiscent of the Italian countryside. Obviously a lot of noise but good atmosphere. We wanted to order various dishes, which they no longer had, they were sold out, until the third attempt I was able to order what they did have. I asked for mineral water/sparkling water and was informed that they did not have it, obviously they brought us to the table the only option they had/common bottle of water (First disappointment). My wife also tried to order trout, they offered it on the menu that they put outside before entering, and they also informed her that they didn't have it at the moment. I ordered fried calamari, horrible disappointment, the calamari was very poorly fried and tasted like plastic, served accompanied by a cold tomato sauce and had a horrible taste (second disappointment). Until now the only thing we had enjoyed had been the bread and oil with which they welcomed us. 30 minutes later and hungry they brought us the main dish in which my wife found a hair. At that point we were already very disappointed. We decided to finish our bottle of wine and not order dessert or anything else, we would surely end up very disappointed as well. The price is not bad. The waiter and his service were overwhelmed by the commotion and our table always looked dirty, with plates and unattended. I see the comments of many of the clients and it seems that we visited another place in another dimension.

Our server Ryan was spectacular, we are from Iowa so he helped us with recommended food items. Very kind , friendly and would definitely come back to have him serve us. The back patio was beautiful to sit at , very gorgeous at night! Last the food was incredible! Yum!

We have been dining here since they opened. It is the most exquisite restaurant I know!! Love every single dish. Garlic knots all entrees, triple chocolate mousse cake. Bill, Sam and the whole wait staff is superb.

Small town delight. Highly recommend reservations. Waited 1hr for a table. Told by locals to try it. The service was outstanding, no recommendations there. Food was delicious and portions were relatively small compared to Bucas, or other fine Italian dining.However it was prepared wonderfully and had a full complement of spices and flavors.The wine menu seemed to be the push when dining here, you will not find any alcohol besides wine. Not exactly a small child restaurant, mostly retired and older patrons.Price was higher than most compared to the cuisine presented and the wine price was that of an individual meal. Great for anniversary or date night but at the price point I recommend Bobs steak and chop house or Bucca de peppos.
