Sunday evening and everything was absolutely perfect. My husband and I live in the area and decided to come in for our anniversary. Quickly greeted and seated at the bar and brought water/menus. Started with a crudo sampler which was a great way for a couple to try a few of their raw offerings. My favorite was the tuna topped with the crab. I ordered a 3-roll regular combo and my husband opted for the 5-roll premium option. Every single thing was delicious and fresh. Even the options with sauces were very nicely balanced and not overdone. My favorite was the salmon option with the mango. My husband loved the yellowtail topped with a jalapeño. Chef gifted us a couple of pieces of salmon belly sushi which was my favorite bite of the night! It was lightly smoked and came with a dab of a wonderful sauce. Tiramisu mascarpone for dessert had a cheesecake texture which I really enjoyed. Will be back and so happy to have them in our neighborhood.

Best Sushi in Carrollton maybe and among best in Dallas. The kind of place I’d take my best friends when they’re in town.

I came to blue maki on a Friday between when they opened at lunch time and when the dinner rush began and was surprised to see a decent crowd during a time that is normally pretty quiet time for most other restaurants. There was still plenty of seating both available at the main seating area at the sushi bar as well as tables around the edges of the restaurant as well though. I ordered the 3/2 regular/premium hand roll combo (Spicy Tuna, Dragon, one I forgot from the bottom left of the regular menu, Bluefin Tuna, Waygu ~$43) and a classic Yuzu Highball (~$13). Overall the Hand rolls were great with the Dragon and Premium Tuna being the standouts. The highball was fine but had a pretty heavy boozy taste in the back half and a bit less fruit flavor that seems to be the more popular style these days. I think this is fantastic spot but I think I'd go back for dinner as it ended up being a bit more spendy than I prefer to do as a late lunch/early diner option. I think 3-4 hand rolls is likely enough for me for one meal so I think I could likely get the similar joy on a tighter budget than I managed this first trip though.

The food was delicious! I loved how the seaweed was wrapped in plastic so the wrapper wouldn't get soggy. The torched salmon belly was on the house and was amazing! Blue Maki is worth the price, quantity, and quality. I will definitely be back!

I'd like to give 5 stars but I was not happy with the price at the end. The food, service, etc. Everything was fantastic. The owner of the place was very friendly as well. They have Omakase (chef special thing) menu without listing full price. One of the chefs told me the price per person is $75. We decided to try the Omakase menu. When we received the bill, it was $175 per person. If it was only me, I would think I heard it wrong, but both of us (2 people) heard him stating $75 per person.I still recommend this place for regular menu for regular price. If the owner ever reads my review, please consider to list the full price on your omakase menu. I was really not happy to pay $450 for 2 people dinner (including tax and tip).

The food here is astounding, but what really made our visit special was Chef Yun! What an absolute treasure. He took the time to go above and beyond explaining things to us and was such a kindhearted soul.Everything we had was delicious, but The Blue Fish maki roll was our favorite. Can’t wait to go back!

GPS Problem - The manager knows Google Maps and Apple Maps (TomTom) point customers to the wrong building in this strip center complex. They are located between the building where GPS will point you and the building immediately behind it. There are so many restaurants in this large strip center that parking was a real hassle. We were new to hand rolls and were expecting regular rolls, but the hand rolls and sashimi were amazingly good! Layout of this restaurant makes it a little noisy when they're hopping, but we were still easily able to carry on a conversation. We enjoyed spicy tuna, yellowfin and California rolls and a great wine. I would only say wait staff needs to better monitor customers. Our server was all over us to get an initial order, but when we weren't in a rush to order, it became difficult to find her, let alone get her attention. I would be happy to come back next time I'm in the area.

Finally visited after seeing all the posts on social media. The variety of hand rolls was impressive, offering a perfect balance of flavors and stuffed to the brim. My favorite was the blue fish and negi toro. The fish was incredibly fresh, and the presentation was top-notch. The ambiance was nice and the staff were attentive and friendly. I'll definitely be returning for more sushi adventures! Definitely get some hand rolls and the sampler crudo if you go!!

Delicious, well prepared, tasteful and simplistic sashimi dishes. We had a lot of sushi options as well which were to mention. Although, we especially enjoyed the sashimi. Plus the staff and host were very welcoming towards our party while celebrating a birthday.Great place for a small party of 4 or less. Table space is limited for anymore than 4 people. Bar seating is a good experience, you’re able to watch chefs and ask questions.

So fresh! We ordered 3 regular + 2 premium hand rolls and a toro roll. They were all delicious! Thanks to Chef for also giving us a complimentary salmon torched sashimi! Everything was good! Only thing I would question is the host...we walked in and the Chef greeted us (love) but the host/waiter was too busy talking to someone and the chef had to tell him we have customers. The vibe was very calm and not loud. Definitely coming back!
