The food was wonderful, delicious and fresh. The lasagna was so flavorful. Their pork schnitzel was so tender. The restaurant is beautiful and so relaxing. They have a patio/ bar restaurant that is nice and inviting with music as well. The service was great. The ladies who served us were so sweet. Can’t wait to go back, theres also plenty of parking and if you wanted to take a walk there is a historic walking path in the streets behind the restaurant.

Used to be amazing, went through change in management and the place suffered when they made too many changes, but luckily someone decided to bring back the old menu and I can say it's back to the way it was before.

I hadn't been to Castroville Cafe since way before COVID. I understand COVID and our current economy changed many businesses. I was disappointed that some items had been removed from the menu. I may try a different menu item in the future. If I don't like it...there's always delicious chocolate cake and ice cream.

Family time with my Comadre.Coffee and Peach tea (unsweetened).Side salad and Tomato Basil soup. Salad and Ranch dressing very delicious. Soup not over powering. Hot (for a cool autumn day) Creamy and scrumptious.Shared Penne alla Vodka. Orie our waitress split the dish in two separate plates. So very thoughtful. The pasta was perfectly cooked. Sauce was cheesy, oh my God so delightful.The cheese topping was freshly shredded, so melty.
Excellent food, excellent service, excellent environment. I left fully satisfied! The waitress, Connie, was a delight!

It's really about the only nice place in Castro bills to have lunch. Serves good choices of soups,salads , and sandwiches in a wonderfully restored historic home . it is also aacceeptabie priced. I can't imagine anyone that would have a negative experience

One of the better experiences we had in Castroville. This place was adorable, and very inviting. It felt like Sunday meals at grandmas. The prices were great, and the service was what you would expect. It was like a relative was attending to you. The food was all very well cooked and came out faster than we expected. My wife had the tortilla soup. FINALLY a place that makes it right. I had tomato basil, not as good as the tortilla soup, but by no means bad. The pluses- The lasagna,pasta salad, schnitzel, mashed potatoes, kettle chips, peach tea, lemonade, and the bread were spectacular. The maybe misses? Well the burger my son had was actually very under seasoned, which was surprising considering how well all the other dishes were seasoned. It was still good, just looked better than it actually tasted. The star of the show for us was desert. We ordered pecan cobbler with ice cream...one of the greater desserts we've ever had. We will definitely be coming back till we order everything on there menu!
